PBDB (probably been done before):
Talk about a guy who has welcomed the World into his home!
This is my Thanksgiving thought this year for some reason, maybe as a new poster to SuperTopo, I am remembering the important moments in Cal.
I just have to say, again (cuz I thanked you repeatedly in '90),
thanks for showing me (via your hospitality) what a multi-cultural and wildy diverse world climbing is (not to mention the trust, welcoming said people into your home).
Todd, you are one of the good ones, Man.

I met Todd once very briefly a few years back. I was on a road trip and eating burritos at a local joint with some friends. He spotted us as climbers and gave us some photo copied sheets with new route topos and offered to let us stay at his place.
We were all really struck by the kindness and generosity that he showed towards some complete strangers.
Thanks Todd!

The man is a legend, and some of it is true.
We met in Moab, and the word helpful just doesn't cover it.
I never went to the ranch, but all my friends did.
What we all really need is for Todd to win the Lotto and buy a place in Foresta. Hell, if I win the lotto, I'll buy him a place in Foresta. I don't want those vagrants (my friends) hanging out all season at MY place...

I took advantage of Todd's hospitality in years past. An ocassional shower and went to a party there. It wasn't until recently that I went out climbing with him.
He is willing to take anyone out from newbie to honemaster. Todd's main concern is that everyone has a good time.
Todd sees the good in everyone. He is the most tolerant person I have ever met.

Went climbing with him and friends the other day, and even though Todd did not get to show us the Previously Unreported Route he had wanted to, he patiently put up TR's on several climbs so we could have fun. A very selfless human being, for sure.

Todd is the MAN. I can honestly say, he is perhaps the biggest hearted, most gracious human being I've met. He has shared his rope, home, shower and kitchen with a hell of a lot of folks, not to mention the fests he hosts at the Gordon Ranch. And he is a full time dad and husband as well. He has even taken Tucker under his wing.. Andrea is a Saint to put up with him!
Thanks for everything you have given the climbing community, Todd.

I first met Todd around 1995 in Joshua Tree when I was first starting to climb. I was an eager and hungry newbee. I stayed in his house a few times (back then, EVERYONE was welcome) & parked my van on his property many times. Went to a couple of parties at his house where the infamous Cactus Pricks headlined :-). I barely knew him but he loaned me gear on a few occasions and simply asked me to bring it back at the end of the day. I would pepper him with beta questions about climbs and he would patiently answer. I got to climb with him a few times and he was always way fun to hang out with. I've never met a soul who didn't think that he was a cool MoFo. From time-to-time, I run into Todd in Joshua Tree and it's always a pleasure to spend a few minutes talking. He is the mayor!

Todd is one of the most generous people I know. The man shows no bounds with his home, time, money and emotions. He forgives and truly forgets those who have well not been as kind to him a quality that is lost on so many of us.
Thank you Todd for all that you do, you have made an impression on so many lives and the community at large.

Thanks Mister E. Spot on as usual!!
V. Funny Scuffy, as usual also. Todd is actually way ahead of nearly everyone here in posting ‘shitloads of pictures’ but of other subjects, especially his wonderful kids. He really makes me wish I had had kids. It just is so wonderful to watch the kids grow.
Susan P. Is so right too. TG shows no limits it seems in sharing himself with us, and for years and years now too. The fests and other parties are so unique and cool and always work out really well. I wonder if the roof got redone though. The Group surely would want to make that happen.
And TG as a person: subtle, kind, stealthy-bright. Quite a man!!

I meet Todd up in WA at Banks Lake in 2000-something while my sis and I were trying to find some places to climb. He provided us with a topo of Frenchmen's and asked that we return it after we were done. Climbed with him that day and enjoyed all his beta. Have nothing but good things to say about the guy (had no idea he was a J-tree badass). I mailed the book back to the address listed, hope ya received it. Keep up the good work, man!

My art show opened in Palm Springs a few years back. Midway through the evening I spotted an obvious climber checking out the art. It's the dress code that gave him away, North Face Jacket, all weather pants, approach shoes. You all know the look.
Todd had driven down from Joshua Tree. It was the first time I met Todd and I was very touched that he had made the effort. He is one cool cat.

Thanks for all the birthday greetings and well wishes. Today i had a great birthday;..dave evans summed it up.....go do an FA, hug your wife and kids, and eat some ice cream;....and that is just what I did (Dave knows me well.....)....and that makes for the perfect birthday. Best thing of all is my wonderful family that I am truly blessed with......today I turn 60;...and with my family and friends behind me "giving me the power"......i am ready for 60 more years of fun and adventure, mystery, mystic, wonderment, surprises, and love.......bring it on, suckas.........(let me see;.....60 plus 60 more;.....hmmmmmmm...that would be 120;..the oldest man on the planet......hmmmmm)..

I don't think Todd will ever fully grasp the impacts he has made on hundreds of climbers. Cheers to one of the most honest and pure people out there.

Todd....Wishing you a most happy birthday...
Looking at the pictures of your wife and kids, makes me remember a time before you had them.
Back in the days when your place was like C4 south... remember????
I do.
Thanks for being my friend.
