^^Thanks for the share MD^^ Google translate version:
"Mountaineer Thomas Huber plunges 20 meters in depth
Berchtesgaden - extreme climber Thomas Huber from the "Huber Brothers" is a bad fall while climbing. His condition after a 20-meter fall but stable.
Blessing in disguise for the world-famous mountaineer Thomas Huber! A 20-meter fall, including skull fracture remains for the 49-year-olds without sequelae. The elder brother of Alexander Huber had crashed on Tuesday in the Berchtesgaden area at Brendlberg between Oberau and Scheffau.
How BGLand24.de learned Huber has put on a rock hooks and cameras positioned to shoot movies. Abseiling he fell then 20 meters in free fall into the depths, pulling to a fractured skull. He was then operated on immediately in Traunstein hospital due to a blood clot. His condition is now stable but fortunately again. Unlike former Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher Huber need not fear long-term consequences.
At tz-demand he answered via Whatsapp briefly: "I was very lucky and endless guardian angel." Thomas Huber had already in 2011 received a shocking diagnosis: On his kidney doctors found a tumor-like structure. Fortunately it turned out that the tumor was benign and could be removed. Well hope the Berchtesgaden mountain sports that Huber recovered even after this serious accident.
His brother Alex, the second part of the Huber brothers could assist him only conditionally, since it is at the moment on an expedition to Greenland. The family of Thomas Huber can breathe; He lives with his wife and three children in Berchtesgaden. On April 15, Huber wanted to give his band Plastic Surgery Disaster concert in Cuckoo's Nest Berchtesgaden. That this is now probably has to be canceled, should be able to cope with his fans. The main thing, Thomas Huber will recover completely."
Clearly it wuz the "rock hooks and cameras".....The "cameras" is whut did Michael Schmacher in it's been said, as apparently the Go pro he had mounted on his helmet went into his skull. Thank the good lord he didn't have any "Rock Hooks" follow it in.

I always get those guys mixed up. Thomas is the taller of the two?
Best wishes on speedy recovery.

But they only have a 3 man portaledge. Where's the other two going to sleep? And who gets to be in the middle of the Huber sandwich?

Thomas, Toni, and Sebastian are going to try to close the 38 year old loop on the Latok saga. George snd I are going to add historical perspective AND, with a little luck, open up a route on one of the sweet technical 6,000 meter peaks in the area. It's up in the air now.
Thomas just posted on facebook that he'll be fine!

"Fractured skull, but no permanent harm."
How in the hell could that happen....?
A truly fractured skull should certainly result in some level of brain injury....

If it isn't a depressed fracture then lasting effects are much less likely.
That isn't to say that the resulting concussion can't have lasting effects.
Hopefully that isn't the case.

Heal up quick Thomas. You've done it before.
His rock band is called "Plastic Surgery Disaster"? Ha! Perhaps a reference to Kohl's El Cap by the same name.
I just had a feeling they had some heavy rock star vibe when I saw those photos taken in El Cap meadow wearing leather pants. To me it had a Scorpions vibe to it.

Bummer.
Thomas is a unique guy, and a rock star in more than one way.
I remember, vaguely, him coming to the bar in Chalten at around 3am and giving all the climbers the upcoming weather window news he'd just gotten from his guy back home. I don't remember his exact words, but it was to the effect of, you guys better stop drinking and start walking, now. I managed to take advantage of the window he forcasted for us, and never got to thank him.
Cheers dude, heal quick. And thanks for the heads up.

Wow, scary. That's quite a fall. Glad he's ok. I doubt he was operated on for a blood clot, it was almost certainly a bleed.

So I am more of a climber groupie than a climber, and I have had the pleasure of seeing Thomas and Alex climb a little.......wait what was I typing about.....sorry little flashback there......
So anyway I am so greatful that such a nice guy is and is going to be fine, but that is a long fall by a virtuoso of climbimg. If had had the worst of outcomes there would be rude requests to know what happened in the middle of condolences.
So what happened? How did I come so close to loosing someone Ive been fanta....uh.....remebering so foundly since 2004?

Thomas has made a remarkable recovery and will be going back to Latok 1 on 8/15. George Lowe and I from the 78 climb will accompany him.....first time back in 38 years.
I think that Thomas along with Sebastian Brutscher and Anton Gutsch have an excellent chance of seizing alpine climbing's Holy Grail.
George and I are there for historical perspective and hope, along with Thom Englebach, to establish a new route on one of the nearby technical 6,000 meter peaks.

No sequelae from a skull fracture and what sounds like a subdural hematoma? He will be lucky not to have any sequelae! Brain injuries/concussions are highly variable, and often not apparent in the immediate post accident period.
