I like the managerial match-up: Maddon v. Francona

both are among the best if not the best. I saw no tactical errors, although I probably would left Kluber in to try for at least one out in the 7th (would have pulled him if he allowed another baserunner)

I told y'all last week Cleveland is solid. But they've used their ace
and now they gotta bring in the second string.

Not trying to get your goat or anything, but the link doesn't seem to go to the goat story, that 's Sianis and that's not the same goat (to the naked eye). I wonder how he got it to San Diego.

The photo does turn up in Oakland however. Sianis and the goat were invited as guests of the Cubs, both being issued tickets.

It seems that the goat was actually allowed onto Wrigley Field in 1984 also.

More from the "announcers"

So what was the common thread between this game and those two shutouts against the Dodgers? According to ESPN Stats & Information, it was the unusually high percentage of fastballs the Cubs took for strikes against the starters they faced in all three of those games.

Man. Kluber was on fire last night for Cleveland. I hope Arrieta has a night like that.

xBrown, typo noted. Thx.

My link seems to work OK. It's the Chicago Cubs' curse, likely.

MFM - If I click on the link it goes to the global USA today page

If I cut and paste it goes to the correct page.

Curses

Now it works if I click on it. I'll expect a report on my desk by end of business on this date next year.

Crankloons got no proper priorities.

Doesn't seem that Schwarber's bat lost any of its juice during his layoff.

The team that won the opening game has gone on to win the whole shebang 12 of the last 13 WS...

Michele is all Cubs. Doesn't like the manager of the "Ohio team".

I'm starting to "slud" (thanks Dizzy) toward Cleveland.
