^^ Oh my gosh, Fritz!! THAT IS FABULOUS!!
We *love* the rocket powered flying snapping turtle!!
I'm so proud of how far Anita has come since we first met! Little things like external fixators on her leg didn't slow her down.
A few months later, the frame was removed under a general anaesthetic, and two and a half days later - with a hastily replaced and blood-drained plaster cast - she flew down to Yosemite to drink beers with me in the El Cap Meadows!
Afterwards, we hit the beach:
The very next season, she was schlepping her pig up to the base of El Cap:
Check out her leg - no metal! OK, there might still be one screw left inside somewhere.....
And we set off up Squeeze Play over on the left side, a variation of Lost World that finishes on Lurking Fear.
We didn't make it to the summit on account of enduring three days of storms, and when the awful realization of bailing finally sank in, the tears of defeat in Anita's eyes told me that she was exactly the kind of climbing partner I had been searching for
So she came back with me again....
And this time we sent. Looking down on El Cap Meadows this time:
She thinks it's a suntan, but it's really just dirt:
