We're particularly happy since so many "wise men" so publicly (including here on the Taco Stand) intoned that the "donkeys" could not get the job done (again).

Newton had never seen a defense like this. I must say, I have always liked Newton, but that changed after I watched his arrogant pre-game interview. Then, his NOT post-game "interview" pretty much undid any lingering respect I had had for him.

We learned our lesson after Seattle handed us our butts on a platter two years ago. "Defenses win championships" doesn't even tell the story of this year. The offense rode the defense's coattails all the way. LOL

But it does feel good to see them go all the way this time. And I was particularly happy to see Von Miller get MVP.

I do hope that Manning takes his winnings off of the table now while he has set yet another record in a Superbowl win as a sort of fairytale ending to his career. I really hope he doesn't try to pull a Brett Favre. If he gracefully retires now, he'll leave only a good taste in pretty much everybody's mouth.

Who's next for Denver? Is it Brock? This will be very interesting, because Denver is going to have a serious struggle keeping their roster together at this point and stay within pay caps. Elway's going for dynasty, but that's ridiculously hard to put together.

Noodle arm brought a defense this time. Cam was classless in defeat.

Missed Cam's post game interview. Anyone got a summary?

Cam got the sheet beat out of him.

Newton has some maturing to do. We've not seen the last of him.

Congrats, Denver. What a defense.

Great win by the Broncos. Credit goes to the defense.

Cam looked rattled. He should learn to tone down his showboating and not give the opposition even more motivation.

At dress rehearsal for the half time show, Beyonce punted a football clear out of the stadium! That's how powerful her legs are.

And the Sheriff can ride off into the sunset with a big smile on his face...

Von Miller will be around for a while, since he's probably gonna' collect a $25 Mil per year contract.

Congratulations Denver fans! Denver's defense beat the league's most valuable player, no doubt about it. I'll leave the Cam bashing to those of Romanowski's ilk. Yuck.

The beat-down(s) doled out to Brady and Newt was priceless to witness.

Today is not a good day to go to Downtown Denver on a casual shopping trip; this is the day of the Victory Parade, and the cops are preparing for up to 2 million football fanatics to descend on LoDo.

Lovely day for a parade, yeah there a bunch of people in downtown who wouldn't ordinarily be here, but they're not causing any trouble that I see.

Was touching to see the reception Manning got when he walked off the field at the game's end.

He was too classy to steal the moment from his mates, but would be crazy not to retire soon.

With all due respect to a great player, I'm not sure how much class it is to be slightly humble when you've just played the worst game ever for a winning SB quarterback.
I knew Kubiak didn't have the guts to pull Manning during the SB--fortunately Broncos managed to win in spite of Payton, certainly not because of him.

Talk about monday morning quarterbacking,..

Denver's defense won the game, but the Panther defense was pretty good too.
Sure it wasn't his best game, but the results were a nice way to quit at the top.

Guess we'll see,..

Despite all the BS talk about concussion protocol, I had the feeling Newton was concussed. His head seemed to get nailed really hard during a helmet to helmet tackle (red card for the defensive player) in one of his first half runs, and he got sacked pretty hard a couple(?) times at the end of the half. Then he ran to wrong tunnel at 1/2 time.

I also think it's time for red cards for unnecessary roughness calls. I nominate Aqib Talib for the first.

2. Near the beginning of the second quarter, Denver’s Aqib Talib grabbed Carolina’s Philly Brown by the face mask and flung him to the ground. It was Talib’s second 15-yard penalty of the first half. (He had previously been penalized for taunting.) Brown later left the game with a concussion.

I'm sure the Broncos can come up with examples of their own, but really regardless of the team, if you aim your helmet at another player's head, you're out. I wish they would make your team play a player short, but gee, maybe that won't happen.

Congratulations Bronco fans. For various reasons, none of them particularly good, I never liked the Broncos; but they certainly seemed the better team Sunday.

I disagree with the conclusion "it was a terrible game..." It was a hard fought, down and dirty, old school beat down.

I was really hoping Kubiak would let Manning throw a couple at the end of the game.
