A very worthy video to watch.

A lean Whillans leading most of the climb and recordings of his wisdom leading, or on nearly being chopped, & also his humor, after beating an Italian team to the summit.

Close calls for both Whillans & Bonnington when their sisal fixed ropes frayed & broke.

Brit climbing humor!

A Two, or more thumbs up watch!

RIP Rafael Juarez and amigo.

Weren't the seventies just a great time to be around the climbing world?

Great video. I've read many books on those guys - Whillan's is one of the best.

I was climbing in the Lake District, with a local, back in 1970. We went into the local Pub, and sat down right in front of Don Whillans, who I didn't know, but my partner did.

I asked my partner if any of the well known climbers come here, and he whispered in my ear, " Don Whillans is sitting in front of you". I felt like such an ass, since Whillans was listening to every word.

Here is a picture of one of the team, Chris B. at 80, taken 6 months ago, in the Lakes.

Don Whillans

Don was freeing the world's hardest cracks while Yosemite's pioneers were resorting to artificial aid on significantly easier climbs. (Jim Donini)

If you'd made this film politically correct, it would be very short. (Ronnie Faux - Times Journalist)

The mountain will be there in the morning - the trick is - to make sure you are. (Don Whillans)

You say: "The original vid is private."

What does that mean? Is this a pirate copy? I happened to buy one on eBay.
