I thought that Thanksgiving would be the perfect time to start this because don't most of us feel that mountains are the most awesome expression of natural beauty on the planet.
Every continent has them from the massive Himalayas to remote pocket ranges like Utah's Henry Mountains.
Let's keep this alive by bumping with new pics of mountains, including the flowers that blanket them and the people and wildlife that inhabit them.
Don't give us everything you have the first time around....sneak a few more in every so often so that the thread stays alive for others to find and contribute to.
I'll start off with just a few....

Spent a night with my partner Jack Tackle on the level snow shelf in the lower left quadrant of the picture. Snowed two feet and I set off an avalanche that almost took out Jack. Had to rap the North Face....a truly epic descent.

I've always wanted to post this picture because there is so little mention of it anywhere on the internet. Guilbeau Pass which allows you to cross the Brooks Range from the E Fork of the Chandalar in the south to the Hula Hula drainage to the north, in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Not many people pass through here, but for those who do, and for the ones googling Guilbeau Pass, they can contact me at this place.

Anyway, a shot of the north side of the pass with a lot of snow blowing around:

Another pass is Carter Pass. Not many people pass through there either. It is mellow, but getting to it is a huge multi-day pain in the ass.

Carter Pass, which connects the Junjik drainage to the Marsh Fork drainage:

I only had a little film point and shoot camera, but the foothills of the Brooks Range in the subdued midnight light, were very beautiful:

Piergiorgio...Greg Crouch and I took inspiration from a route on it named "Greenpeace." We thought the name was hopelessly PC so when we did tht FA of the North Pillar of Pollone which lies just next door we called it...."A Fine Piece."

This is Mont Ventoux in Provence in the South of France. More a cyclist's mountain than a mountaineer's mountain at only 1900m with a road to the top. However it's a great place to have fun, the valleys surrounding it are littered with great crags, there's a nice steep snow-plod up the north face and some half decent snowboarding / skiing for local interest.
It's also a great thing to wake up to every morning. (This photo was taken from my bedroom window)
