So, Moose do the allow them sno-bikes at most resorts down there?? I've always wanted to try one...
my understanding is that the heave does too but only on limited terrain. could be old news though i haven't skied there in years.

Briham, if you like temperatures in the teens with 12 to 18 of cold powder on virtually all aspects (few rocks on wind affected ridges), with a 12 monolithic frozen base from the week before, first tracks on every run, plus deep leeward slopes, lots of sun, no wind, great friends and good healthy mountain vapor you would have dug it!!!

briham89, thank you!

I'll be traveling a bit, but I'll be back mid January. Still, a potential of three months on the slopes.

When I broke my foot six years ago, I got only a few days of skiing. On one ski, too. Hope this time will be different.

(Sorry for the wife's camera skills. LOL)

Drove today by Kirkwood. Beautiful winter scenery - snow on the trees, blue sky...

If the damed doctor didn't tell the wife I can't ski now, I would be on the slopes, for sure.

Anyway, I'm happy for anybody that enjoy the snow now.

Post up, please!

How is Kirkwood this year?

Looks like a lot of wet snow.

Hey Moose, its mostly been just OK. Last week and this week we got heavy powder (contradiction in terms?) My room mate up there suggested the Rockies might handle this week's "atmospheric river" better than the Sierras (colder, lighter,...) He was probably right. I can't figure out where the "non-KW" BC shots (above) are taken (clues please?) There is a good base now (but my bases are trashed.)

Thanks, Footie.

I'm planing to go skiing at Telluride February/March, if my shoulder recovery goes well.

Hoping for good conditions at Kirkwood/Heavenly before going to Telluride. I need a couple of weeks to get in shape.

I'm glad you are having fun.

Friday morning was fun "cream cheese" powder. It was mega dense but actually a lot of fun. It was 4 feet deep but you were only skiing 4 inches on the top. Mid day it started raining and it all went to sh#t. There will be a VERY nice base for the next storm.

It's dumping!

I'm going to Minden on Monday. Skiing Kirkwood or Heavenly on Tuesday.

Enough of being disabled! My shoulder just has to take it. Hoping to ski for at least a week.
