Ignore 'em, shun 'em, don't respond to their posts. You are giving them attention when you respond.
In fact, delete this thread and ignore them from here on out. It took more time to set up this thread than to scroll past their posts that bother you.
Also, practice a sense of humor. Some people are just dense, but not malicious. There is nothing on here that you must read or to which you must respond, after all.
Now get back to climbing and having fun. And lighten that pack. I'd suggest you make a list of all you put in your pack, and when you get back, note what you have not used. If it isn't the emergency kit, leave it behind the next foray and see if you miss it.
