..sorry Werner - this must be a weird ad but you're a bad ass quacking legend : )

Yep, looking to add to my StoneMasters collection. Do you have anything of his from BITD?

This was for sale at a recent fund raiser. I missed out. Sent an email to whom I thought bought it, but never heard back. So either I had the wrong person or he politely told me to f' off!!!

Actually I'm always in the market for vintage gear used by any of The StoneMasters.

Let me know - thanks!

Most of us just use colored tape. I guess if you hang with a motley crew you need to take more permanent measures :-)

Whoh, don't tell Merry. She kicked a bunch of Werners old stamped trash out the ebay door a couple years back for only "beattoshit" used cam prices. Now it's collector grade?!!!! Crap, maybe I just need a WerNer stamp?

Someone wake Studly and tell him he's rich now, he won one of those real Werner cam auctions and was lording it over the rest of us. LOL

hey Werner, if you still have those letter punches we could make a lot more!

shazzbot! I gave my old gear to Chicken Skinner... you and Ken could turn out a whole lot of "collectables" to support the YCA

I'll pass on the underwear unless used on an FA. Ok, ok, not really. Have to draw the line at the climbing poop tube.

I could part with these if the price was right.

Hey, I could buy those if the price was right......

The real prize, pride of place in any climbing hardware collection, would be Werner's maroon-colored Le Mans. Such a classic.... I bet Chessler bought it up, years ago.

^^^^

I read this thread earlier today ad was just going to post that I wanted the purple Pontiac and then I read the last post. Synchronicity.

I had a purple '66 Bonneville that I drove to the Valley a few times and Werner still had the Lemans floating around. I always got a laugh out of that. I really loved my old Pontiac. I want another one. That 389 would just purr at 100 mph.

I have a Chouinard Lite D 'biner with "TM" stamped on one side of the gate and "Herbert" etched into the other side. If I recall correctly, I found it with a nut and runner attached down low on Royal Arches in the late 80's. And no, I ain't gonna part with it!

Cheers,

John

This is Werner's original climbing journal that somehow got left in my VW van in 1970 (last entry 2/1/70) and ended up in a box of stuff at my parents house. Just recently found it. He would let friends make comments in it. We were a little wild and crazy back then and still are. I race a 170 MPH drag bike.

I could deliver Werner's journal to him - he might get a kick out of it.
(I can pick it up from San Mateo easily).

Hi Clint,

I found it about a year ago and took photos of all the pages. I have to find it again. I haven't seen Werner since the 70's once I find it I may have to take a drive up to Yosemite.

Very early A5 hammer, there, one of my first. Didn’t even grind the forging flashing off the sides. Gave it to Werner around 1987 or so.

Roots: Here is something you might be interested in...

When Werner got his stamp kit, he went stamp wacky and was doing up everyones gear. He put my name on this cam... I believe the cam is one that Rob Oravets made and is still in great working shape. All this happened in something like 1984. After playing with it a bit right now I'm tempted to put it on my rack and use it!

I'll pay for the shipping to you, and you make a donation to the Morongo Basin Humane Society... something generous would be nice, but any amount will get you the cam if you want it.

Here is the link to donate:

http://www.mbhumanesociety.com/donations.html

Confirm your donation here and send me your shipping address if you do the deal....

Russ - that is generous of you and I'd be stoked to get some of your old gear...

Making the donation of your choice sounds just fine. I'll try the email feature and see if it gets through to you.

And I thought the real money was in counterfeit Minoan relics. DOH!

I especially like the tube chock withe "C Pratt" stamped on it. nyuck-nyuck-nyuck

I can turn any piece of gear into "Werner Gear" because I have a full set of lettering stamps. Call me. Let's make a deal. I can do other names too: Bridwell, Kauk, Honnold and Croft.

In a few days, I will have some RURPS with "CHARLIE PORTER" stamped on them.

And as soon as I find an old air-powered drill, I will adorn it with "MAESTRI".

Who wants to buy a broken hemp rope signed "EDWARD WHYMPER - 1865"? It's a 2" hawser from an old boat, but who's to know a yacht from a knot?
