We had just come down from the WFLT and Gumby had to go home. Back at Camp 4, Kevin had arrived with plans to climb the Prow. He asked if I wanted to join the team? He suggests that they have a secret weapon. I'm hoping to see Ed Coopers 100 foot long etrier possibly? But no, like a sort of Orange County Cat in the Hat he begins to pull out what looks like the world's longest Tuba. I'm expecting to hear the Santa Cruz fight song- "Go Slugs Go!" But it is actually a custom built PVC Porta Ledge---Hand sewn no less! I start to back away slowly and in an effort to confuse him I throw a chain of carabiners at him. He is confused by the airborne booty and I turn and run.
Later, I receive the biners in the mail and I seem to recall something about a climb gone bad with a strange rescue. They say the memory is the second thing to go--So what really happened Kevin- or was this all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago?

The PVC portaledge was a way stupid idea of mine; there isn't a good story there.
