The new issue of Climbing has a nice memorial article for Dean Potter. One of the photos shows Dean free soloing a route he called "Easy Rider" on El Cap. They say the route goes free at 11d.
Does anyone have info on this route? I'm wondering if it would be a good free route for mortals who can't do Free Rider or the other harder el cap free routes?

Easy Rider - you hike to the top of El Cap,
then downclimb the standard (5.10) finish from Thanksgiving Ledge that is shared by Dihedral Wall, Lurking Fear, Never Never Land, etc.
Then traverse on Thanksgiving Ledge (eventually some 5th class pitches, I don't know how hard) and connect with Freerider where it traverses left from the Salathe' Roof.
Climb Freerider to the top.
I don't think it would be a very appealing climb to most folks, but I can understand the appeal to Dean as a free solo climb.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration on Thursday revealed that 21.5 million people were swept up in a colossal breach of government computer systems that was far more damaging than initially thought, resulting in the theft of a vast trove of personal information, including Social Security numbers and some fingerprints.
Every person given a government background check for the last 15 years was probably affected, the Office of Personnel Management said in announcing the results of a forensic investigation of the episode, whose existence was known but not its sweeping toll.

Way above my pay scale, interesting though,
Hey G-Gnome, do you still lurk, I was sorry to have not realized that the avatar was mostly already taken, so sorry.
Also, I am sorry about the loss of so many of the way above average members of the 'tribe'
Who have packed it in and do not post anymore.
I wonder if it is a learning curve thing or just a 'No longer a shut-in' not a boredom thing?
