People have been talking about the end days of the forum ever since I got here, around 2007. There's always those who are up for a chat about climbing.
I can't think of anyone who was booted for a climbing thread.

Yeah, I'm objecting to the loss of climbing content. Met Dan once, climbed with him at Woodfords. Seemed like a nice guy, and he's put in a ton of development up there. To lose the content he posted up around here for the benefit of all over a reactionary post is a real bummer. I'm guessing his routes aren't going to be appearing in a ST guidebook any time soon.

Maybe has something to do with the negative attention, or lack of, that he gathered toward himself.

I know that no real climbers post here any more, but we can still talk about gardening, right? Or is that on the blacklist as well, along with religion, politics and tunnels under Walmart?

I've been lurking and watching this forum slowly deteriorate since its inception... I rarely post since much of it is pure BS and slander and flames. Dan actually posted about climbing, which is what drew me to this site in the first place. Enough said.

Free speech? I wonder how chimz would feel if I went into his place of work and started saying the kinds of things he said to this forums admin. I've been here since 2006 (9 years folks) and have always been able to say what I want and feel, how the $@&% do people manage to get booted?? So do you talk that way to people in real life as well? How does that work out for ya?

I never saw it either. his point was the bannings are getting ridiculous (which they are). i'm guessing he dropped a few F-bombs and what not. and i hope everyone knows that woodfords pdf is courtesy of Ron.

It's a bummer because now I can't figure out just what it was. Similarly some of the U-Boat photos have disappeared.
I think he disapproved of talking about U-boats on the ST.

Once this forum bans all the obstreperous wing nuts it will be a lot less interesting, but if somebody makes vicious ad hominem attacks give 'em the hook.
We can have an interesting exchange of ideas without devolving into personal attacks, but perhaps a whisper from Cmac or Rj could work as well as a ban without the drama.
