This thread pulled me out of Internet retirement...
Makes me homesick for NZed it does...(though I only lived there three years (1998-2001) )
Rapaki and Castle rock...the Tors and Cattlestop..
(Castle Hill is on everyone's radar 'coz of of the boldering, but the roped stuff was very nice (though the bolting standards were 'fukkin abysmal..))
Any shots of Mt Temple buttress? (My favorite/scariest/pants full of poop day when I was down there.....)

We were just in Castle HIll last week and we were also a bit appalled by the bolting. What is with those things? We saw one at Hanging Rock that had been filed to something that resembled a saw blade and left in. Whats up with that?

When I climbed at Castle Hill (1983-1992) the bolting seemed fine.

As far as bad bolts at CH, I remember more than a few bolts with cold shuts used for hangers..
The old carrot bolts were funny...in a gruesome kind of way..
