It did open its doors approximately when the Table Mountain bolting moratorium went into effect. Coincidence? I think not...

I blame Obama.

And why have all those Dollar stores opened since Obama was selected by the Illuminati?? And anyone that shops at a Dollar store is obviously part of the plot to steal the Amerika we love.

The so-called "plot to steal the Amerika we love" ended with the demise of the White Front discount chain in California, Oregon, and Whatsington, Gritz.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Front

There was a White Front fronting on Blackstone Ave. in Fresburg, where I bought a genuine set of gold bands on the occasion of my first wedding in 1971. Nineteen dollars each.

It was soon followed into the retail ether by Disco. My new spouse worked fpr a short time at the Disco in Oxnard. (One has to live SOMEwhere and work SOMEplace.)

The Disco Department Store was a discount department store chain. It became a subsidiary of Daylin Corp., headquartered in Beverly Hills.

The one in Santa Cruz County was located in Capitola, on Bay Avenue (before Kmart and other discount retailers moved into town). The store was in the building where Nob Hill Foods and CVS pharmacy stores are now located.

The Daylin Corp. continued into the early 1980's. It was once on the American Stock Exchange.

but there really are tunnels! you, you...lampooners
Sonora does have a network under the streets from the Gold-rush era, used at the time to move gold around safely. And yes Roger I wondered about those under Table Mntn. Don't you think "General" is a bit suspicious? If you are reading this...

Tunnels aside.....Dollar General stores are gentrifying rural Cali at an electrifying rate. Joshua Tree has a much more cosmopolitan feel now.

Joshua Tree has always been artsy-fartsy. Yucca Valley is where the genuine desert dwellers dwell.

An hour ago, while I was filling up at the Sierra Energy station, I saw a pickup truck go into the Dollar General parking lot with a "support our troops" bumper sticker.

Do you think they are involved? I believe it was a sticker supporting the troops of the federal government. Where is the CA national guard? Someone needs to monitor this...

scrubbing bubbles: when are you going to be man enough to apologize for your (verbatim) comment that goes:

all poor people are as dumb as dogs and stupider than dirt.

Especially when so many of these human beings are veterans - not to mention mentally ill citizens who don't have access to any sort of social safety net.

I (and I hope we) are STILL waiting...
