Bump.

Is there a list of things needed? Other than tents and tarps, I mean.
Glad to see there are a couple of places to make donations, and remember the Doctors can use a few bucks any time for their efforts as well.

Thanks to everyone doing so much good to help out.

Just got word they are accepting sleeping bags as well:

Chris,
Good Morning.
We now have word from ECCA that we can transport other gear so your sleeping bags would be a welcome addition.
You can send direct to the Santa Cruz office at 333 Soquel Ave. Santa Cruz, CA 95062
Thanks again for you kindness.
Best,
Susie

Hah, I wasn't even aware that we are accepting sleeping bags now, awesome news!

If it makes anyones life easier to donate a tent, I'll be in Asheville NC from the 10th to the 16th this month and bouncing between Tahoe and Bishop from the 20th to the 6th or so. Give me a shout through pm and I'll pick stuff up.

Please remember that we are accepting USED TENTS as well BUT for those interested in purchasing NEW Tents. We have our partnership with Sport Chalet and Eastern Mountain Sports where they will MATCH a Tent for a Tent. Here are the links (doesn't matter which they go through):
Sport Chalet: http://www.sportchalet.com/category/tent+for+tent.do?icn=homepage&ici=400a

Bump.

The two-fer tent deal is sweet. I hope a lot of people know about it. Tell your friends. :)
After all, this is our planet, and these are our people.

Maybe if some cannot afford a whole tent, they would let others know and sort of match up funds together or among a group get those tents shipped.

Thank you

We've had a great surge of support this week, so thank you again for all your generous donations.

If anyone has donated and would like a receipt/deduction form for tax purposes please email TentsForNepal@usaconservation.org with your request or contact me directly.

So what if I just want to send a check to a good organization?

Never mind, if that 2 for 1 deal is true that looks like the best way to go.

What about food?

Good to hear this tent project is doing well. I just spent a week trying to figure out a way to get money to my friends that the government wouldn't seize. I finally sent it through Western Union who then wouldn't release it to the Gompa treasurer because I didn't put down the guy's middle name. Of course the WU form didn't have a space for a middle name and that doesn't really help in a country with at least ten thousand Mingma's and 5,000+ Mingma Tenzings but rules are rules, never mind he had the right tracking number and code.

This project's fun will begin when you actually get the tents to Nepal.

We are recommending cash donations go towards the ECCA (the organization my company is working with in Nepal) through GlobalGiving. I am sure someone else can comment on reputable potential alternatives to donate cash to as well.

Will a donation to Global Giving go to the Nepalese or go into a general fund? Their rating is very good for not skimming donations.

edit: just want the Nepalese to get the best bang for my buck.

FYI: Sports Chalet will require a delivery phone number if you send the tent directly to American Conservation Experience in Santa Cruz. I think it works to put in ACE's Flagstaff Headquarters number: 928.226.6960.

Thanks for doing all of the leg work for me QINTL!

I urgently needed 4-5 men Tents, could anyone help me from USA? I am victim of 25 April 2015 Earthquake from Nepal. We haven't received good help at here, we are staying under open sky. We lost everything due to earthquake. I needed tents in donation to stay safe from the rain and others. Tents are not available in the market of Nepal due to earthquake. I had contact many online stores but they aren't shipping to Nepal.

Please could anyone help me from USA and send tents to my address below mention. We don't want money now but looking for shelter, a 4-5 men tent will do. I am giving sample of that

Ram - I sent a good, used tent to American Conservation Experience in Santa Cruz, CA. Have you been in touch with them directly?

I just forwarded Ram's post on to the people at ACE who I've been in contact with about tents. They should be contacting him shortly, I hope.
