brokedownclimber who occasionally posts on this site has had prolotherapy several times to good results. I'll see if I can have him get in touch with you.

Re: Prolotherapy; I've used prolotherapy a lot to keep myself from falling apart. I've had both knees treated many times over a 27 year time frame, as well as my lower back for the sacro-lumbar regions. As a direct result, I'm still able to continue climbing at age 76. Otherwise i'd be OD-ing on pain killers. 2 1/2 years ago I fell off of one of my farm implements and landed wrong, partially dislocating my L knee in the process, as well as damaging a large ligament inside my pelvis which pulls the S-I joint together on my R side. After only 3 treatments, I'm now almost back to normal free movement without pain.
The specialist that I've used in this time frame is Thomas Ravin, MD, who is also a board certified radiologist. He's in Denver, and is is the phone directory.
Here's a reference for finding a physician to treat you where ever you are:

Thanks brokedownclimber! I have an appointment for the hackett hemwall treatment in alameda next month. Hooefully it will help as this back injury and pelvic issues has impacted my life greatly. Hopefully it will help! Just trying to get as much info as possible before I do it.
