Werner is correct. http://www.pioletsdor.com/
Interesting that Honnold wasn't there for the ceremony. I bet he doesn't care much about this :-)

I was on the jury a few years ago, didn't really need one this year....the choice was that obvious.
2015 award for a 2014 climb.

It didnt get the press of the dawn wall.. but ..what ever did?
Such an exceptional traverse that created a major new standard.
I like what Donini said... That choice was obvious.

I'm a little out of the loop but what did Honnold climb? Or are they giving the award these days for ballsy solos of established routes?
In any case the best to both of them. Now back to ice crusted alpine climbing. :)

Honnold the n00b pulled off the epic and long desired alpine traverse of the Fitzroys. As a beginner alpinist! Fortunately Caldwell is plenty badass too and was experienced enough for both of em.

Awww... I get it. So Caldwell's award was for Fitzroy too I guess. Makes sense. There probably was some ice crusted rock up there. - I take back my dismissive tone. :)

Piolet?? No probably not but for this generation of Ascencionist Tommy Caldwell is the best big waller/Alpinist there is plain and simple and his sack probably weighs 40 pounds with the ammount of nuts he shows and his kids name is Fitz doesnt get more real than that same with Honnold dismiss his crazy solos and hes still a superhuman his fingers look like bratwursts from all the climbing theyve seen and his attitude towards the sport has made him the continuation of true american dirtbags. Alex and Tommy, Congrats on this massive feat Keep Climbing guys youre an inspiration to us all
