Here is a public service announcement. MP is where it is at. Supertopo forum looks like it was made in 1985, back when Windows 3.0 was big. Time to move on. That is all, carry on ladies.

MP is where I learnt how to make a 16 point equalized anchor only using the gear I carry and all my partners gear.

MP looks like it might be a great resource.
This is not an either/or situation. :)

Thank you

Mountainproject is a library and Supertopo is a bar. If you wanna hang out in a library all day, cool...

as feralfae intimated, : an incredible resource. Especially if you are climbing in places that have no guides, but you aren't doing FAs.

Great metaphor Greg.

That's just a great comment.

It's not only funnier than hell, it's spot on.

well-put GDavis.

I s'pose I'd rather pickle myself with a bunch of opinionated old picky-dicks (speckled with a few youthful stalwarts like you and Vitaliy), than a pool including the totality of, well, the youth.

F*#k. So yeah, tendonitis...

EDIT: you want trusty, talk to Clark J or Phil. Not like my current pard who has bouldered "everything V4 and down, here" but can't be coerced to be ready, roped and harnessed and shoed up when time counts and there are pitches to climb. I love MP. Probably rather rope up over here though.

Wait, is this a personal attack? [WITAPA?]

hey there say...

the nice thing, here, about supertopo, is:
it is fast and easy to click, read, and find things, for those that are very busy, and need to get a lot of other chose, done, etc, at home or yard, or work-areas, etc...

not sure is that is an old set-up thing from way-back or not, but it is very nice and practical here...

:)

easy with just a few tabs, and can switch back and forth, nice...

and read a good long simple and neat front page, :)

oh my, well, am busy and got to get back to chores...

sometimes, the older format, or ways, are good:
is this what was meant... not sure?

but it works very very well, :)

A big complaint i see here is that people seem to want two different forums to separate the climbing content and the OT threads. But that sort of thing just isn't possible on the Windows 3.0 tech which the taco is running. But the Proj is so futuristic it's got 38 sub-forums. I bet a lot of the old-timers around here wouldn't even know what to do with that many forums.

you can make alot of money selling gear on that site.

I would take a well made supertopo guidebook over mountain project hearsay though any day. Look at some of the books supertopo has made, the Puryear Alaska Climbing book is the bible for AK climbers.

GDavis yes!!!!

Can you imagine a bar full of supertopoians???? That I would like to see. Although I wonder if the lack of somewhat anonymity would make it less fun....
