Anyone want to get together for a day of skiing at Tuckerman Ravine later this month?

Let's do this!

Busy day this week, be careful!

And this Travis guy has put up some nice local BC vids this winter after an unusually heavy and low-moisture snow year.

(I've always liked getting up into Gulf of Slides more than Tucks, the years I've been motivated to get over there to ski. Not forcast, study the topography, wx archives, and project from the MW advisory; go with care. Never even got my skis out this year. Sigh.)

Bump.

I'll be heading up there the weekend of the 25/26, staying at Hermit if possible.

Let's go skiing!

Edit; Semperveins, lots of snow, full on spring corn conditions. Tucs is the real deal for northeast skiing!

Yo Dale, that video was shot right in my backyard!

It's no GNAR schralping, but skiing trees on pow days is about as religious as it gets. I'm posting it here so others can enjoy.

I'm sure others want to go, bump.

Even if you're not someone who rips steep chutes for breakfast, Tucs has something fun for you.

C'mon, let's get together and have a great time! PM me if you are in doubt of your readiness for fun.

That huck with the tomahawk looked like the huckster had studied the flight dynamics practiced by the ever-hard-charging Pat Munn of the Adk. Ski-to-Die in the late-1970s. Exploring the wild blue yonder with no flight plan or confirmed landing zone was his MO. We could only watch with amazement...

Unless, of course, you're from SquallyWood.

Okay Brandon - we be waiting for the Tuckerman GoPro viddie - 60 mph on glare ice - that really is an achievement all kidding aside.

But if really want to go big - tell me you body surfed Tower Three Chute at Jackson and only hip checked the choke cliff once!

We be bad.

You know I never have skied those ekat,I do remember talking to this guy who just literally skied down a very icy ,steep ,boulderly creek in the dacks, and he said his skis were double edged.I believe they were Hexcel's.
I had asked him why, when there was great powder up on the rim/shoulder of this ,he said "they suck in snow".

They were skiing from lunch rocks staying high skiers right above the gully I believe. I wasn't psyched about hauling my gear up since the bowl was too dangerous, so I was just a hiker with another buddy. It was winter up there. Lots of snow, it'll still be good a month from now.

You've basically got three choices at Tucks. A jump like that offa the headwall, Hillmans, and Grand Saloming alla the climbers coming up on the right.
When my brah did Hillmans, he was 4th in a line of 10 climbers. A snowboarder hit #5 and took all 6 behind my brah out. Fortunately, there were Doctors at the bottom. You'll want to have your control wired tight.

Steve I would.

Like Brandon said we traversed high skiers right then hiked the snowfield in pic 5.
The end of that snowfield I suspected we were cliffed out.
Instead was a col/glade easily 65 degrees plus and me and Eric[who is an incredible skier]set off some major sloughs, especially myself ,trying to surf windcrust.[rather poorly I might add,I was better to just point em']

I know the word is overused ,but for me ,that ski down was epic.

And the climbing the next day at Rumney,World Class.
