I know this probably goes without saying, but do not leave anything at the top of Tollhouse Rock no matter how well you have hidden it. I left my hiking poles well hidden below the top of Storm Warning Wall while I rappelled in to do climbing. I had stashed them far below the top and not in an obvious spot. Later in the day when I climbed back up they were gone. I asked some climbers I met if they had taken my poles, but they said that a local person took them who knew me (note that the person does not know me nor do I know him). Apparently he lives in the area and scrounges around to pick up cans and bottles for money. I guess I will now be careful not to leave camping gear up at the top. If anyone knows this local person, supposedly named Tim or Timmy, please tell him I want my hiking poles back.

Clint and I took a couple of car windshields from the top of Tollhouse Rock. Apparently a 4x4 rolled and both the front and the rear windshields blew out. The truck got towed, but left the glass. Clint rolled up the front windshield into an oblong cylinder and stuffed it his pack! What an animal!

The Top of Tollhouse, the parking area on the highway, the dirt road going in, they are all suspect to thefts, vandalism and who knows what else. This has been going on for years. Its just something you know going in. Don't leave anything showing in your car. Use a steering wheel lockbar or some kind of preventative to getting your car stolen. The top used to be visited by 4 wheelers at all times of the night, having camped at the wrong place one night we found this out. There's DNA in all the bushes and trash. Leave no trace so at least climbers are low on the trashing Tollhouse complaint's to the Sheriff. Other than that, its the best place to climb that kind of climbing anywhere!!

Hey! You think loosing hiking poles is bad? Don't leave your granola or cornbread laying around! There is a fox up there this year. Nothing is safe! It made off with a couple pounds of fresh made granola, a bag of cornbread, and most of a bag of chips at the Faceoff in October. Painful lesson learned.
