That was a little biased, but that's just MY opinion.

I'm a big fan of their Women's National Bikini Squad.

And rutabagas.
The Irish call this root vegetable a turnip. The English call it a swede, and in Scotland it is often called neep. It reminds me of a boob...but that's just me, as well.

This last video is a form of commercial that aired in Sweden, glorifying our work terms in a humorous way. In the end they thank employer organizations for making it so.. Such hypocrisy! I think no other country has had as many strikes as Sweden historically. And now they try to take credit for being generous..

Sweden has a strong connection to the US, going back to the days of the massive emigration. Which also has something to do with the Swedish society today. We were starving back then, roughly a third of the citizens left the country. The government panicked, resulting in free education, everyone's right to vote etc at a relatively early stage in history.

Interesting. I had assumed your benefits were much more recent than the great emigration.

Of course you're right, Jan, most of it is recent, I'm just saying it might have been what got the ball in motion..

But you gotta go to Häggsta to learn to climb like a Swede...

And not just anybody can party like a Swede,
that takes some real dedicated practice.

But being good Swedes they did clean it up nicely.

Wallyvirginia, where did you find that! And totally agree on the commercial.

Dingus, what a coincidence! I love America and I love an American. They're actually as Swedish as lingonberries.

Except that you're still a young and wild country.

@cintune

That's a good one! My family is from northern Sweden, I spent my summers there as a child. I use this "word" all the time. Never occurred to me that it would be odd to the uninitiated.

Some use tongue clicks, others inhale.. No biggie! =)

Hej, Wally, did you ever do this route at Häggsta where you have to use
The Swedish Headjam? I think it was first done by some chiropractor.
