What would be really cool is to hook it up with a little servo motor and an arduino with a mic and a little dsp for speech recognition for basic commands.

"Help Climbird" -- it slowly extends.

"Oh shit!" -- it quickly extends

"F..." -- same

and so on.

Oh, I am definitely going to add "Help me, Climbird!" to my list of annoying climbing catch phrases, only I won't be using a tiny voice.

Not that I'll be using a Climbird.

Does it come with a ten foot eyeball extension to see if your cam is good?

'Would you actually climb with someone using Da Climbird?'

As someone who is not too proud to admit that he has financially supported Da Brim, Da Climbird is still an emphatic no!

It's all short-sighted. In the modern age of electronics and gadgets, what they need to invent is a climbing robot with gecko hands or suction cups or something that can drag at least 50 ft of rope, place a cam or a nut or such, with video and remote operation on an android or iphone platform, and has an integral roll-up solar charger for the LI battery. Best of all you could use the voice-to-text feature. Man, that would be great fun when auto-correct kicks in!

Maybe a cam placing stick-clip attachment for one of those hovering drones?

I've also been enjoying the Engrish in the ad. Though based off the videos I believe it's a Korean product, not Chinese.

Werner, if you're not comfortable with that cam placement, you should look into this for more solid anchors... fast forward to 1:30 into the video:

Not sure I'd get one for cupping. There seems to be a lot of yanking to get it off.
