So, Supertopo, I need your help! first of all, I am 6'5"!!!! and getting cloths is soooo dang hard! I mean, this world as far as cloths go, is made for the needs of short people and average hight, not tall! Jackets I have been able to find but pants are impossible!

So, my solution that sucks but is better then nothing, long under wear with shorts over! and every other day of the year, just shorts... when Its a rainy day at school and EVERYONE has pants on, there is 1 person who will wear shorts, ME! and its not by choice!

So, tall people, WHERE DO I PURCHASE GOOD CLIMBING PANTS THAT FIT ME!!!!!??????

Do i pretend I am amish and make my own cloths for the rest of my life? Do I just wear carhartt and other shitty brands? please please please help me out and just give me a website to look at!

I would dig some stretchy wind resisting stuff. also a pair of water proof would be nice, so hook me up with a source to buy!!

I'm 6'4" and all I can contribute is a request that you let me know if you find any. WTF is up with outdoor softgoods companies thinking that a 34" inseam is a "long"?

Whitemeat, are your legs longer than 38"? If so you are out of luck. If 38" works for you, try looking for karate pants or other marital arts pants. Some come with elastic waist. They're diamond gusseted and fit much like Grammicci pants, but no front pockets or zipper. Cheaper too.

Never worn this model but it looks like it should fit the bill. They might make a 38 inseam too. These convertible ones are real nice for cold mornings and hot afternoons. Mec makes a sick climbing specific pant in a tall size too, but they are currently out of stock. Check with them in spring. The RNB pant.

I'm currently wearing a sweet pair of 38 pattaguchi's i found at the mountain shop on the clearance rack so maybe a miracle will happen for ya.

Can you buy Levi's or other jeans with an inseam and waist that match your needs? Otherwise, your long-underwear + shorts uniform sounds similar to mine in the wintertime (and I'm a dude of average height).

Haha. The tradition started with Chouinard, who was a midget. I'm 5'10" inches and even when I was 140 lbs had to buy his XXL Patagonia stuff.

Yea Walmart is likely evil, but they sell painters and carpenters pants there. $18 a pair when I got my carpenters pants. And I wear an 36" inseam with a 32 waist. Fit almost as nice as the baggy Carhart carpenters pants. Not much good when it rains though.

I'm a tall guy too.

Here is your options:
KUHL makes cotton type pants in a 36" inseam for cragging etc. Those pants work pretty well for climbing but they are not very durable.

If you want to get technical:

Patagonia will sell you unhemmed guide pants if you special order

Arcteryx makes many of their pants in long lengths.(34")

If you want super techy pants with integrated gaiter etc. You are mostly screwed. Luckily you can fudge it a bit with taller boots etc.

I'm 6'4" with a 33/34 waist and I found a pair of Prana Zion stretch pants that actually fit, and they're almost too long!

I hate paying for fancy expensive climbing pants but they fit, so I bought

Thanks you all!

Limpingcrab... The prana Zion's are the best! How long of an inseam did you find them in and where? I have the prana Zion shorts, but 34" won't work for me!

Thanks again folks! The links have been great and a real help!

I suggest hopping on Tinder and looking for any female over 6 foot. They will be all over you because finally they met someone who won't make them look like a giant. Of course, this won't solve your pants problem - however if you haven't already considered this plan of action I think you are missing out something fierce.

I cut the bottoms off some old pants for climbing pants. A little past the knee is the best length IMO. It protects your knees but doesn't interfere with your feet. Of course it looks dorky or gay when a guy wears capris in public, nttawwt. Manpris as a friend calls them.

Oh, BTW Arbor Wear pants run long on the inseam. I usually wear a 34 inseam but had to go down to a 32 and they are still a little long so I would think a 36 would work just fine for you. Their Original Tree Climbers are bomber and highly recommend.

Patagonia will lengthen, or shorten, any of their technical pants for a fee. I believe up to 4" and about $45? Shop used or web specials, this could be a great solution for your technical pants. Used pants just need to be clean.

"I am 6'5"!!!! and getting cloths is soooo dang hard! "

I soooooooo feel your pain. I'm 6'4"...36" inseam minimum. (Used to own a pair of Levi 501's with a 40" inseam.)

NONE of the major outdoor manufacturers make anything that don't look like knickers on me. (FU, Patagonia.) Mammut made a long pair that is the only thing that's come close. Besides that, I rely heavily on Carhartts.

Mickey, my Pranas say "Lrgx32L" whatever that means. I got them at REI after trying on a bunch of pants. Maybe it means 32 waist and long inseam? I can't imagine that the inseam is 32 because that would never fit me...

Having high water climbing pants isn't a bad thing, they're just goofy when you're not climbing

Typically prana long pants are 34 length. In my experience prana doesn't last very long, especially on granite.
