I was mulling over buying a Climb X crashpad on eBay.
SB-C is prominent in their advertising.

Bet SB-C she doesn't do a photo shoot at Castle Rock State Park when the mosquitoes come out in the spring. Cover up or stay away!

Good choice for a climbing model. She's very photogenic. Anyone (man, woman or beast) that can weasel up into a chimney with their bare knees scrapin' stone and still keep a pleasant visage gets my vote. For myself, I would be squinting and scrunching, people would be running away from a picture of me, so hey, have at it.

Besides great looks Sierra competes in all the major climbing competitions. Occasionally she visits the Phoenix Rock Gym and walks all the V7s and below as a warm up.

What a cutie. And I'll bet she can outclimb 98% of male climbers. Tough combination, guys.

What a cutie. And I'll bet she can outclimb 98% of male climbers. Absolutely. I don't see the controversy (if there is one). She's a pretty face for an advertiser and, while she isn't climbing the hardest stuff out there, still climbs more than hard enough to know she's the real deal. Do you really need to someone who climbs V13 to sell crash pads?

Way off the mark.
She did a PR thing at our bouldering gym a year or so ago.
Really nice. Very good on the plastic. Stunning, Fit and Strong!
A day out swapping leads on slabs and cracks and she'd be a 5.10 partner at best.
Not a dig...JMO

at some point are people going to stop spraying about how high level sport/competition/bouldering climbers wouldn't be able to hang on a day of 5.10 trad cragging. for one of many recent counterexamples, Largo's report of Sasha on the Misty Wall....
http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/2980077/Misty-Wall-The-Push
other examples..
nina williams on the rostrum her first time trad climbing
kevin jorgenson climbing equinox 12+ in j tree on his 1st week of trad climbing
daniel woods on 5.12 in the creek his 1st time trad climbing

Word!
Sasha D's first trad lead, El Matador (10d), probably harder at 5'2".
First day with tools and crampons, M8 and WI5.
The vision and ability is amazing. I hope my daughters have the same level of confidence for whatever endeavor floats their boats in the future.
Kick ass ladies!

So true, right now I guy that I sport climb with is making the transition to trad. Totally crushing. I've actually noticed that my totally trad upbringing is a hindrance to climbing harder.. it's hard for me conceptually to think of 5.11 and easy .12 as relatively moderate grades I should be sending. Back in 19-diggity leading a hard 5.11 was years in the making, today not so much.
I liked the Priest Draw footage, love that place. When I was at NAU I used to take my books out there and do some school work in between falling off problems.

I just have to say that I am completely OK with the young, strong, and beautiful looking confident and good in photos, video, and advertising. Enjoy the wonderful feeling of a young and strong body moving across stone while you can because life is certainly capable of serving up any manner of detours from that particularly wonderful path. I would love to trod that path again, but now I am just thankful that I once had the opportunity to do so, and did. Youth is certainly not wasted on the young when they are out crushing it and looking good doing it.
cheers, and thanks for the original post, this was GREAT!

Before dissing sport/gym climbers remember that Alex Honnold and Sonnie Trotter went from these styles to being top trad climbers.
I can remember climbing with a young boulderer from New Hampshire. He went to J Tree to learn trad and was thrilled with his first 5.9 trad lead.
A year later we met again and he was climbing 5.12 trad.
On the other hand I am wary when a gym climber says he is breaking into 5.11. I think "I know some 5.9 trad where he will scared sh**tless"
I just wish I was young and had all that power

She seems like a focused professional who is finding her niche in the world. I'm sure she is a great role model for young women and younger girls out there--so more power to her.

For me seeing the movies of her climbing vs the very irritating (but ahem captivating) stills, made me pay a lot more attention to her. The stills are terrible. There make her look like a bimbo photoshoot model despite the kneepads. I hate having my weaker nature being preyed-upon. But the movies: if I could ever have climbed 1/4 as well as she does, even bitd, I would be way proud. And I just like the way she climbs, and she wears knee paddy thingys!!!!!

Sierras main focus is on her climbing performance. The photos you see of Sierra are items presented by the media, photographers and sponsors, not necessarily from Sierra.
Sierra is Blessed with amazing climbing strength, and has a family that supports her passion which gives her the ability to travel the world and compete against the greatest climbers worldwide.
