Shot on the walk in front of my building at 4:20 a.m.

Yeah, I stood around till it got in the right place.

So I burned one and froze my tookus off lying on the sidewalk to focus and fiddle.

It's still just a full moon, no superiority, just happens to be up closer than normal.

BIG DEAL! See ya in 74 years and don't be a stranger.

(CNN)Patting yourself on the back for getting a killer photo of the supermoon? Well, Ben Gwynne can top that.

Like many of us, Gwynne was out last weekend to capture the moon in all its glory when he happened upon this amazing visual.

It's called a moonbow.
As the name suggests, a moonbow is the same thing as a rainbow. Like a rainbow, it's formed when light is refracted from water droplets suspended in the atmosphere.
The difference, of course, is that the moon doesn't produce its own light. So it's light from the sun reflecting off the moon's surface, and refracting off water droplets in the air.

Cool!

Now I have to try it at f64 to get it all in focus. I guess new-wave would have me just do two exposures.

magic Gnome - lots of melted rock o the moon. Is the gear in the moonlight still frozen?

Darwin, I like it as is.
(If the foreground is more than 100' away f5.6 may have enough depth of field to focus on the moon)

McHale, I have always been curious about the rebound peaks in craters of some large enough size.
