Taken this morning on my drive in to work. I pass this viewpoint, with Boulder Canyon in the foreground below, every day.

Setting moon views from our front gate just now. It rained heavily last night & the air smells wonderful this morning.

Took the dog out for a walk around six this morning. It was getting light to the southeast, and I was puzzled by the shadows being cast by the as yet nonexistent sun. I turned to the northwest and saw the biggest, brightest moon in a while setting behind the hill. Crazy bright.

Would be great to shoot the supermoon from the summit of Half Dome or from Washburn or Glacier Point, Yosemite Point, or even while climbing Point Beyond.

Neverwas!!! Those are awesome !,

Lynne,
Thanx for the nod,my lunacy knows no bounds.
coming from when film and developing were beyond my budget
It is a joy now when I can take a hundred snaps of the moon just for fun.
and Happy birth day Mom and son!
great to follow the bone and meal that I feel so estranged from
I miss Kalifonia more and more but the heat of the sun not so much.
No longer a lizard, but still all about Peace Love & Understanding

don't forget the far side gets full also
note that all the craters look as if they where a bulls eye hit ? from whatever direction it came from ? if it was not a direct hit ? would not the craters be so round ? if a meteor hit at an angle to the moons backside ? it should leave an oval crater ? ? ...... right ? ?
oh yeah click on it ....... good view ......

Wedgee, beautiful. Last night here we had a blood red moon again. Started out slender and white and about 2 am it changed big time.
