I've lived in Moab for 15 years and have probably less than 40 towers. Quite embarrassing.

I don't have a written list so I'll attempt to use me memory.
Hopefully this thread will inspire other desert rats to up their count. I want to up mine.
Up yours.

Ancient Art
King Fisher
Echo Tower
The Titan
Lizard Rock
Dock Rock
The Hindu (actually onion creek)

Yeah, I think Eve and Ralph are at 300+. It's entirely possible they'll run out of towers to climb someday.

Where's crusher? Mine list is really small, but only climbed in the area about 10 days total. With most of those days at Indian creek. That being said just the usual suspects Castleton, ancient art, south six shooter, owl rock, space tower, but I did get to ski 2 feet of fresh in the abhoes(spelling) after getting a foot of snow overnight in the creek one March.
Climbed more than a few towers(needles) around here though.

The Larry. OK dude, maybe I'm embarrassed to actually post my list. It could be less than 100. OK, it probably is. Give me a week or 5. Let's let this play out!!!!!!
In any eventuality it would take a while to actually find and post. the records are........

At the very least I'm gonna' wait for Gordo to post.

Hey Larry! Nice list! We should add North Six to it together. I will hit you up roundabout late December or January. Numb finger times, you know.
I could try and go off about my own list but it would devolve into the esoterica of micro-mud towers that no one else has names for or interests in. Like things worse even than Tezcatlipoca.

I'm a granite snob, admired the look of desert towers but never really had the urge to get dirt in my eyes.
I have one desert tower on my tick list, but it's a volcanic plug, if you can call that a "tower."
EDIT: Take that back. I got a few sandstone desert towers in the Wadi Rum.

so we know you got (get?) a lot of really aesthetic new ones, RO, but what about the fuglies? what's the breakdown: straight tens? or are you more of a middle-of-the-road kinda guy?
myself, if we're talking new ones, I like to keep my sights low - as in like in the gutter. it still feels good, just a little less thrill to the chase.

I'm at 158 (though this includes Mexican Hat. Maybe there's a few other doubtful ones. I count any Colorado Plateau formation that requires a rappel or some kind of fifth-class descent).
Forty first ascents. Being first to stand atop a tower means a lot more than simply following where others have been. There's the idea of being somewhere that no one else has ever been. Seeing what human eyes have never before seen. Combines a climbing challenge with the thrill of discovering and exploring new terrain
Ralph Ferrara is way past anyone else, closing on 500. I recall Eve's between 250 and 300.
Funny, the mention of Stu Ritchie. I'll be climbing with him in next week or so, helping push his (and my) tower total up a little more.

Then there are the towers rising out of the waters of Lake Powell.
I climbed a nice tower in Lewellyn Canyon, and then heard a few years later of a big rockfall there. So I don't know if it is still standing. If it is, however, it is likely a lot harder now that the lake is more than 20m lower!
It would just be too hard to count. Does Cerberus qualify as a tower? The third Mary? The Minotaur?
For me it isn't about quantity as much as quality.

It's all choss, Ron. If you want quality the Colorado Plateau is not the place to climb.
It would be interesting to know how many people have 100+
Although some how Owl rock is an exception. A solid clean climb that eats up Hex nuts. Crusher doesn't like hex nuts.

Tomahawk Tower
The Mace
Queen Victoria
Teapot Rock
Summit Block Rock
Six Shooter is my only Moab one.
Smith Rock:
Brogan Spire

HA! sorry bro but we are going to get it done here on our RESERVATION! Some may not agree or like it but still no need to be name calling :) and no need to sneak about in the night..SO
The latest adventure for DINE ROCK CLIMBERS COALITION (DRCC). From freezing rain to snow, being dripped on for 18 hours straight and surviving a freezing wet nights! Despite the BAD weather we survived and persevered. To stand on a tower that has such a rich history for our people, to be able to truly appreciate the Reservation to the fullest. Words only scratch the surface on the emotional soul charging experience I had on this tower. I'm proud to be Native American and our lands are precious so get out there see it! Don't take no for an answer; take charge of your life, be brave and experience it all! Life is too short to waste! So go live your dream and just get it done!
