We'll see about the Panda. The Giants have a tendency to hold on to players due to loyalty and willingness to shell out the $$ to hold those who contribute. Not saying its a for sure thing, but I would say odds on favorite is he stays in SF.

V... I can see that your one of THOSE Giants fans.
I have been a fan of the Dodgers as long as I can remember ( black n white TV watching Jaun M.... pound Jonny Roseboro with a bat)long.
One of the most courious things about the SF LA rivalry is the sometimes poor sportsmanship of Giants Fans.
When the All-Star game is hosted in SF.... you guys boo all and any players who are not GIANTS, when its in LA, all star players get standing oviations. Quite a diference in attitude.
If you really mean "EAT S%IT Dodgers" like you say..... well i guess it means that your not really a fan of Baseball at all. Just a bandwagen fan who will stop as soon as your team has a loosing season.
I find that pretty sad.
I take my hat of to the GIANTS, they Kicked ass all season long.
The Dodgers played em hard, cause the WESTERN DIV is the best Div in the game. The best steel comes from the hottest fire.
When giants went to the world series, this year and any year, I was rooting for them all the way, cause thay are western div. Just like I rooted for the Padres when they go.
Baseball is like climbing, its best to have a sporting atttude and appreciate the brillinat deeds that these gifted players deliver.
Enjoy the celebration, see ya next season.

Does anybody really give a hoot about a lame, bygone era sport like baseball? personally I would rather watch golf, anytime rather than baseball. In my opinion, baseball is only good for putting fat people to sleep. it doesn't seem like much of a sport when many of it players have a BMI of 30.

Why do Dodger Haterz hate like they do?
I think I understand the origins of hate for teams like the Yankees (Steinbrenner's moneyed approach to baseball), or the Red Sox (Yankee rivalry?), or the Raiders (hitting below the belt)...etc....
But I just don't get the 'tradition' of hate for the Dodgers. Somebody please explain.

Don't confuse dishing out banter to our biggest rivals as hate. If the Dodgers whup our asses or we get the better of them, it is always sweeter or more bitter because we are such diehard rivals.

Team to team rivalries make sense to me...there's usually some kind of history there.
But Dodger Hate....like Yankee Hate...etc...goes beyond team to team. It's pervasive amongst lots of fans, even those who don't particularly follow baseball.
I've asked lots of people to explain their Haterz-ness towards the Dodgers, but can't get any kind of reason. They just hate the Dodgers. Why?
Edit: "There's no explaining hatred, it's irrational by definition"
It does seem to have the usual irrationality of any other kind of hate, but I'd like to believe that baseball was somehow different.

It was a fun series to watch, and game 7 was a classic. I like Bruce Bochy a lot, he had some good years here in San Diego. His game management was brilliant last night. Only negative about Bochy is the fact that he was born in France. Nobody is perfect.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know. Some of you are missing my point & question.
Team to Team rivalries make sense to me...there's always some kind of interesting history there. I understand why the Giants & Dodgers rivalry is the way it is, in the same way as Yankees-Red Sox.
It's the non team to team rivalry that I don't get, in the case of the Dodgers. Yankees are a good example of generalized Hatin', well beyond Red Sox fans....mostly because of their long history of moneyball.
Yes, the Dodgers used a moneyball approach in the last couple of years, but that has not been the case historically (any worse than any other team). Dodger Hatin', though, is a family tradition. Why?

Giants vs Dodgers head to head match ups during the 2014 regular season were split down the middle at ten wins, ten losses for each team. So, you're wrong. We have the better team and the trophy.
Again.....
BTW, this is Madison Bumgarner not Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw got spanked hard two different times this post season. Bumgarner on the other hand couldn't be touched. Back to the money man Dodger Blue.

Bump for the original thread. Dodger fans are as lame as the team they root for, could you even come up with an original name for your thread loser?!
Why all the hate for Dodgers? Well, because they are a rival and we won titles in the last 5 years. So we want to make sure you enjoy hearing about dodgers suckling as much as we like hearing about the Giants winning. Seems like a habit for the Giants - to win titles.

Here's my take on the question..."Why is it called the World Series?" I agree that to the outsider it seems arrogant and provincial for Americans to call the final championship series of their favorite pass time, the "World Series." However, the teams that make up Major League Baseball (MLB) are not national teams but professional franchises with players from several different countries, including Japan, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, South Korea, etc. For example, the starting lineup for the Giants in game 7 had Venezuelans playing 3rd and center, and a Dominican playing left. Their main closer, Casilla, is also a Dominican and one of their best relievers, Petit, is Venezuelan. I think it is safe to say that most of the best baseball players in the world are playing in the MLB because that is where they will be paid the most money.
If you are interested in learning about the desire for foreign nationals to play in the MLB, check out Yasiel Puig's story...
http://www.lamag.com/longform/escape-from-cuba-yasiel-puigs-untold-journey-to-the-dodgers/1/
Here's an excerpt...
Finally, in June 2012, the 21-year-old outfielder (Yasiel Puig) left his home in Cienfuegos, on Cuba’s southern shore, and set off by car for the northern province of Matanzas, just 90 miles from Florida. He was traveling with three companions: a boxer, a pinup girl, and a Santeria priest, the latter of whom blessed their expedition with a splash of rum and a sprinkle of chicken blood.

Really happy the giants are not investing 100 million over 5 years into him. Time will tell if it is the best for them, but I don't think Sandoval is stable enough with his weight and with his production. He did kick ass in the playoffs, but not so much otherwise. Has been up and down after his rookie year. All the best to him though, he helped the Giants quite a bit. But knowing his history and numbers from his contract year, personally I did not want them to pay big bucks for it. If the giants didn't make the playoffs, didn't win the WS, he would be asking for at least 20 million less. Me thinks...time will tell if Boston made a good investment...

In a ONE TRICK PONY kinda way..
Unlike Kershaw, who is one of the best regular season pitchers in the NL
Kershaw is an amazing batter - career average .157 to Bumgarner's .166
Kershaw had a nice 2014 post season - ERA 7.82 to Bumgarner's 1.03
Now Kershaw does have a better WS ERA 0.00 and a 0-0 win/loss record to Bumgarner's .25 era and 4-0 win/loss
Dang one trick ponies!!!
