Dear Super Topo Fans

My name is Michael Dorame, a recovering addict. Rock Climbing saved my life.
I am producing a film entitled "Rock-A-Holic." Award winning filmmaker Chris Alstrin of "Wide Boyz" fame, a festival favorite at Reel Rock, Banff and Tellurude is the director. This is an inspiring story about how rock climbing saved the lives of 5 individuals through a series of life changing events.
They are stories of struggle, loneliness, fear, and redemption. They are inspiring stories about ordinary people taking their lives into their own hands, and doing extraordinary things to transform their lives in extraordinary ways.
I met 4 other climbers who shared some of the personal challenges I faced & more. Maureen, Ben, Stacey, Craig and myself. Our stories tell of drug addiction, suicide, lung cancer, homelessness, mental illness and a climbing accident led to a loss limb. However, like Michael, their stories are filled with joy, courage, strength, recovery, and hope. Through a series of life changing events, one common thread brought them together: the thrilling sport of rock-climbing.

I was so moved by these climbers that he wanted to tell the world about them. He had an idea to do a film about how rock climbing played a part in saving each of their lives, just as it did for his. So he reached out to award-winning director Chris Alstrin (http://alstrinfilms.com);, pitched my moving story and Chris agreed to be a part of the project and help tell the climbers’ stories. Climbing saved our lives. Maybe it will save yours.

This looks really good. Some life stories where climbing perhaps saved lives and showed the way.

that looks like a pretty awesome project, Michael! I'll check my finances, and hopefully be able to make a donation. Love this!

Looks good - great job adding meaning to our "pointless" pursuit of..well..pretty much nothing important except having a fun adventure.

Craig's story is absolutely mind-boggling. His interview on the Enormocast is well worth checking out.
