Lately, it's been 5am. Anyone else set their alarms for three am?

It's been a tough adjustment, but I'm getting used to it, I guess. I haven't had time to think about it yet.

7am. Get the odd call-in at times like 2am in storms, but snow just hasnt been an issue lately.

Anytime between 8 and 9, but some days it's 10, and if I'm feeling saucy I might shoot for 7. I love self employment.

I can wake up and be dressed, fed, coffee'd, and out the door in 15 minutes, but most days I take an hour or more so I can catch a few headlines on the tube and get the dogs outside.

A month of the alarm blaring at 3:30, and I'm back to my usual routine of waking up one minute before the alarm sounds.

Crazy, I know. It's amazing how much you can get done before five.

A fifteen minute walk with the dogs at 4:30, drinking coffee, is starting to seem normal. Not sure what to make of it.

My "mom clock" wakes me, everyday, no later than 6am...even on weekends, for the past 21 years.

I hit the office around 8am...

I am a morning person... it fits.

Edit: I was born at 7am = morning person
My kid was born after 10pm = total night owl.
He hates crashing at my house. I'm too bubbly at 6am for his tastes.

1 am -7 am desk job,
7 am - 830 deliver the kiddo's to school,
9 am -3 pm tree work.

i don't even need an alarm
i shoot awake at midnight or
so ready to run from something.

it aint a pretty being.

today has been especially rough.
i'm on my second shift at the desk,
pushing out a project just under deadline.

i don't do trees everyday,
but the more i do,
the more my name is littered
among the masses and the phone
refuses to sit there, silent.

and the funny thing is,
im still broke.

Never "clock in".
Usual work week about 15-20 hours.

Unless I'm on a show, then all hell breaks loose.

time is just a concept,

self employed, like to work at nuthin all day,

don't carry time, y'all,

bad for the heart, alarm clocks take 10 years off your life,

early risers start wars, stalin, mussolini,

chairman mao never started a war, got up about 1 pm, opium sleeper,

Whenever the customer needs me. But I charge extra before 8 am or after 5pm.

Usually I can schedule stuff between 9 am and 3 pm.

It's rough.

Retired. Whenever I get my arse on the bike or feet on the slope. 9 ish. Usually. If it's a gym and yoga day, more like 7. If at sea then it's all over the place (every 3 hours) to accommodate watches. On land alarm is set for 5:30.

what time do you clock in with the morning thunder?

you know, that methane that wants out every morning,

that high pressure gas that resonates thru the house like john bonham pounding on a kettle drum?

I've got the day off today due to snow. It's like being a kid again.

I didn't set the alarm. Slept through till six. I must be tired.

Now what the hell am I going to do with my day?

me too, brandon,
though i rip into consciousness at 3 am sharp.

it's grandeur, i've pushed out some rough schedule,
like 7 or 8 days in a row of ridiculously early starts
and long days, and now,
all i've in front of me is
a day cragging of cragging (yea, that's an echo)
with my friend paul
(who by the way is one of the most accomplished
climbers that i've ever met: tons of f.a.'s,
super bold, bolted on lead lines, climbed hard
cracks in the 70's, climbed 13d crack last year,
he's 54)
whoa.

i just went off on paul, sorry about that...

anyway, paul and i crag today, then tomorrow
is tele at the resort, then saturday i tidy up
the spread and on sunday we leave for santa cruz for a 6 day
jaunt devoid of cares.

cheers to well-earned downtime.

so bloated with elation am i,
that i mistook friday for a play day.
hah.
i've got a 120' oak tree that
leans out directly over a house to remove tomorrow.

my friend paul will be there as well.

both of us vie for the 'interesting' trees.

i wouldn't dare arm-wrestle him, though.
i might stand a chance in a wit-fight,
but only if i just hooked a strong black cup
or snuck a pull from the jack handle (shhhhh)
