Tågbekken is 2800 vertical feet of ice. This means about 3300ft of climbing. A nice climb on saturday with time to spare for burgers in Sunndalen City after the climb.

Re Ie_bruce: We did 18 roped pitches of which 2 where long simul climbing ones. So it is at least 22 pitches. Most ones were 50-60m. One was only 30.

It was not that hard, just so long. Wi5 but good rests on all pitches. You need to keep the leader moving all the time. spending 2 minutes extra on each stance means a lot when you race for the sun.
Most ice falls are not that scary to me because I can always drill v-threads and bail most of the time. And I have bailed a lot. But bailing from this didn't appeal to use as you would be in the fall zone of the giant hanging pillar.
It fell down 3 days after the first ascent in 1990. Two friends of us did it in 2005 and then the bottom third of the route fell down when they were on the descent(!). This was in March. The lower part was attached to the rock this time.

Yes Kjerrskredkvelven in Gudvangen is about 1000 meters when the bottom part freezes.
