Dear Friends,
Jeff and I have moved to Louisville, Colorado, near Boulder. Jeff is doing well after an epic move that landed him in the Denver Hospice for 3 weeks. New drugs have given him more mobility and ease than he has had in years. Ever the optimist and always exceeding expectations, Jeff is home now and working away on our film project. He will be back on the taco soon!
Great news! We have a new director and writer for the film, Jim Aikman, of Boulder, CO. He has taken the reigns and is moving the project forward with passion and vision. We couldn't be happier!
See the new teaser for our film here:

Jim's recent project High and Hallowed; Everest 1963 just won Best Climbing Film at the Boulder Adventure Film Festival.

I. WANT. To. SEE. THIS. FILM!!!!!
It's been a long wait....
What happened to Ueli and his attempts anyway? I never heard. It looks as though the entire focus has changed? That is absolutely fine, just curious.

Conor,
one of the books from Jody's 2 boxes is Beyond Risk: Conversations with Climbers, by Nicholas O'Connell.
It includes interviews with 17 climbers, including Jeff.
Many others are still around and accessible for signatures. I suspect Diemberger might be the hardest, but , despite being a softcover, with a number of valuable signatures it could be auctionable here for some $.
Give me a call.
Best of luck in Louisville.

Best wishes and happy thoughts go out to Jeff, one of the most remarkable folks of this generation. Turned out I've donated/pledged twice, forgetting I'd done it the first time. LOL. I'll gift the 2nd one to a buddy when it gets here.
Good luck on the project!!! Looking forward to the finished film.

I had the good fortune of landing three mint condition Hummingbird tools in the plastic a few years ago.
At the end of filming in 2012 I had one of the three and one of my own engraved by hand to help in the fund raising effort for Metanoia.
Connie and Jeff are in the midst of a major fund raising effort with an event in Golden CO on Tuesday, December 17.
I have been assembling an array of museum quality Lowe gear including the axe shown above to be displayed prominently in the planned Jeff Lowe Outdoor Sports Academy. I am happy to provide further details on request.
The next Metanoia Level Sponsor will receive not only the engraved Hummingbird but also a place of honour in connection with this display and the Lowe legacy in perpetuity.
I have two other blank Hummingbird Axes that will go to major sponsors but #1 really needs to remain on permanent display once the Academy opens its doors. I am keeping #4 which is in less than mint shape.

Last night I was at a going-away party for a friend whose field of research is in reverting skin cells to a stem cell to a brain cell to study diseases like Lou Gherrigs and multiple sclorosis. I've got a sister who was diagnosed with MS when she was 17 (in her mid-30's now, with a few cute kids), it isn't something that is brought up often in the family and she suffers it with quiet humility.
Here's to bright young minds and full lives. May they meet in the middle.
