*PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE ADDITION* Anyone in the vicinity and wants to connect with Plaidman at the Zodiac top out, BRING WATER. Saw that he had 2, that is TWO liters left 2 (that is also TWO) days ago. I suspect worse than a thirsty finish unless a previous party dropped a gallon or 2 on route.

Isn't it great that one route can provide so many people with so many varied adventures?
Max and I topped out on it exactly 36 years ago today, after 2.5 days. Cheyne Lempe has soloed the thing in 19 hours, it's been free climbed and now Plaid adds his story, his first El Cap route, waiting out the government shutdown, and a snow storm.

Couchmaster, he blogged/said he had a stash on top he put there of water.
Under that tam is a real stud. Wish I could meet him and greet him atop the Stone of Stones.
I wonder if he lost weight on the climb, in addition to the forty plus he lost to get in El Cap shape.
Somebody give him an abrazzo grande from me!

I spoke with Plaid yesterday and he had ran out of water at Peanut Ledge but a friend had lowered in some from the top, so I'm sure that was a relief. Its actually his Day 16 I believe, not counting the start on ZM but counting the days fixing and rest days in the ledge. So pitch a day on average, taking the casual approach. He said he's linking the last 2 today, got a text at 5am hes up and moving, must be that Early Morning Light. Then to get all his stuff down, yikes! I think Werner said he was going to go hump loads down for him, not!!
Go Plaid, it aint over till its over!

Plaid's been stoked the whole time. Taking it at his own pace, taking Mark Hudons advice, and enjoying the route and the scenery. Glad he didnt get clobbered by a bad storm, but he did hunker down thru a rain and snowstorm. Full value experience Im sure, im envious!

Got up at 4 am to start humping loads. Did awesome going up. 2 1/2 hours. Not really going fast.
Coming down was lossing focus. I had to stop for the day. Safe on Valley floor now.
Got at least 2 more loads to get down. Not super heavy. Mostly just bulky.
I could really use some help. Anyone available?
Thx Plaid

hey there say, mighty hiker....
awwwww, as to this:
I will pay US$50 for each person who helps Scott move his stuff down (maximum two people). The conditions:
Must be done by Thursday evening.
The helpers won't themselves get paid, but for each who helps, I'll make a US$50 donation to the Yosemite Climbing Association. Plus you'll get lots of backpats and stuff.
You have to make sure Scott doesn't work too hard, or get off route on Zenyatta Mondatta on the way down.
Scott verifies to me that you really did help, a half day or more.
(I may buy any helpers a beer or some other treat at next year's FaceLift.)
C'mon you guys - it'd be a lovely excursion, great views and company, a good cause, and you'd have a new friend.
wow, very nice... :)
hope you get some takers...
