Kinda pricey

Er.. You evidently have no idea how much time and money it takes to produce a climbing guide. Trust me.. it's a lot more than you think. Slater's offering a good pre-sale price.

$35 for a just a single area is kinda the norm these days. This is a big guide that covers a lot of areas, so the final retail isn't really out of line IMO.
