hey there say, all...

yesterday, looking at the dirt, near by campfire site, talking to a gal from england, i saw nothing but dirt:

few minutes later, after gazing about and focusing BACK there, there was
lovely blue robin egg--almost like magic, :O

where and how? could it suddenly have fallen--though not likely...

WELL, TODAY:
JUST now went out to sit and survey if yard is too windy to paint, and
lo and behold (and low it was, and beheld i was by the site of this):

a ROBIN landed about five feet away from where other egg was found and:

squatted...

squatting robin, i wondered... never seen THAT before...

then--about perhaps less than a half a minute? it got up... hopped along the fence a bit, and i lost it to shadows...

gut feeling said--check it out...

the lo-and-behold, of the low-beholding-the-urge-robin:

i had just SEEN A PRECIOUS MOMENT--the ol' robin laid an egg, and most
likely it was ANOTHER egg....

now, i am wondering if this was MY robin, or another robin, and it is confused where to lay???
a neighbor recently tore down a nest, thinking the robins there, were done...

mine is still up high in the shed, but sadly i did pull down a few straggling pieces (and i know wonder if i ruined her memory?? of the lay-outo of it? though it was not that many peices, they were just ready to fall and a bit dirty)....

callie:
1--i did a search, but can you add anything...

2--is this a young confused robin, wanted to egg? with no nest?

3--is MY robin lost, AS i changed a slight appearance to her nest--though i doubt that, as, she always come back to the shed, though, i did HAVE the two doors OPEN and she may remember them closed, or one closed, at least... ???

4--could she be upset from the last robin that was dying in there one the woodpile?

5--would she smell the possom that was there one day and after feeding the babes she had, now would not return, and thus, so near, though so far, 'hits the dirt'???

6--any more ideas???

7-mine had two broods already, though some books say, they may have a third... though, this COULD be the neighbors, or a child-robin, or a who knows ??

thank you... first egg, i keep as a memory, after what i read, saying if it was fallen or dropped it'd not grow right...

this one, i put in the lower neat, though i could not reach the higher one...
so it may do no good, but if not, i can retreive it a few weeks from now...

wow, was a very very precious moment to see a lovely bird lay an egg, in innocence there in the sun....

sad though, as babe will not grow now... :(
and the last robin-babe, here, died, by just not calling for the mom
anymore--may have been sick :( from the rainy night???)
