A loving tribute to my husband. Part of him lives on in the spirit of all his fellow climbers. May he rest well and be at peace in the place he loved best. Cheers. Charlie, you are love much, and missed even more. [youtube=[Click to View YouTube Video]]

Thanks,

Btw, Michelle and Trevor are great people. I drove to Redding on my way to Yosemite to pick Ian's ashes and the minute I walked into their house, it was like we had known each other for 20 years. They told me stories of Ian and we laughed and laughed. We didn't cry, but wasn't far below the surface.

Congrats to Ian on another ascent of El Cap. Thanks to Mark for helping him attain that dream.
We are never really gone when our legacy remains. Thanks to you, Ian for sticking around through those you've touched. You'll always have a reserved seat here at the ST campfire.

This hit me hard last night when I read her sister's post about Michelle passing. I had hoped someone had just hijacked her FB page and that it wasn't true, but it is. She and I stayed in touch after her husband's passing, mainly just through FB posts, a few comments here and there. Such a beautiful lady, inside and out, and I am so sorry for her friends and family for their loss. May she rest forever in the arms of her love, Ian.

hey there say, sofcookay... i know, it is so sad...

i got to know her, due to facebook, and she was
so very nice... i really enjoyed her so much...

i can only imagine how much her beloved family
misses her now...

:(

i remember how she was getting ready to 'start new'
and moved and the new job, etc...

:(

edit:
perhaps, there is a reason that we do not know...
she loved her husband so very very much...

even, with paul and his wife,
she died shortly after--it was SUCH a shock, but:

there are things beyond us, that we do not understand...

Yes Sonja. It was like a brick wall.
We are in Mammoth and stopped in a cafe and I logged on.
I just broke down and Mike didn't know what was wrong.

Neebs you are so right. So many things we just never know about why things happen.

She really tried so very hard. She was a lovely soul.
I will miss her

I'm very sad but almost not shocked. Whenever we spoke, messaged or texted, Michelle mentioned missing Ian.
I hope they are together now and taking care of Trevor from afar.

As an aside, whenever I'm on El Cap and something weird happens, I look around for any telltale sign of Ian.
