That's a great selfie Mike, mayhaps the best I've seen. A lot of the time those Mt's are clouded in. You nailed it.

Do you have a paypal? After all those miles I'd like to buy you an empanada and a beer. Or some helado.

RM,
This is such a great thread.
Back in 2006 I did a fun road trip South of Coyhaique for a couple of weeks with some Brazilian friends. Great hiking, beautiful country, very friendly people. I am now living it again, vicariously through your adventure. Thanks for your wonderful posts.

Crossing Straight of Magellan to Tierra del Fuego

Road side selter (bus stop actually). Did a good job of blocking the rain and 100 kph winds for the night.

Another shack/shelter. This time ocean front facing the south Atlantic. Winds gusting over 100 almost every afternoon. First I get blown off my bike, then when walking I get blown off my feet. ha

Two days more riding if weather cooperates.. otherwise who knows...

Dood! Whaddya stopping for? Winter's coming fast! You going to Ushuaia?
Be sure and take the day tour to Harberton* to see the pinguinos - it is
totally worth it! The museum there is also excellent.

*If you ride yer bike down there (30 miles S of Ushuaia) I'm not sure they would take you out,
but they might out of pity. ;-)

Oh, and if it is pissing down and blowing a ton and you want a nice cheap
bed, with a roof and breakfast, the Hosteria Ailen is a good value. It is
a few kliks west of downtown towards the Nat Park - prolly 10 minutes for you.

Super cool to see updates and things going so well for you Mike. Few questions, how many miles do you estimate that you have ridden so far? Are you pedaling back, wintering over or flying back? In either case, stay safe and have (even more) fun!

Proud adventure man. Thanks for letting us peek in on the journey. The photos are great keep em coming. When the road gets rough, the wind relentless and your bike heavy, just be grateful its 2014 and you have the gear you do!
