I hope to be heading up the RNWF next week. Anyone know if the spring is running at the base?

I really don't want to hump all that water up the death slabs.

Not sure how strong it usually runs but as of 6/1 you could fill a liter in under a minute. I imagine it is a bit weaker now but probably still going.

This ought to be a running thread for all HD seekers. Everybody needs to know before hiking up there.

I never saw it NOT running, but the latest I was ever up there was a july 4th weekend. That was a long time ago. I assume that how snowy the winter was has something to do with it.

I'm sure it's running now, but in some drought years, it doesn't -- at least at the base of the wall. Even then, you can sometimes find water lower on the Death Slabs approach. This is the second drought year in a row, so I'd be wary of assuming that the spring is running after the end of this month.

For these reasons, I agree with BASE104's comment: we should keep this a "running" thread (in possible contrast to the springs).

I spoke to an Argentine couple and their friend on Saturday and they had done Snaked Hike and returned via the Death Slaps.

Nothing undue to report, no problems at all except ball bearing gravel.
