JEleazarian (John) always offers reasoned and positive posts. His history of climbing and the Sierra also adds a lot here. John consistently takes the high road even when he could easily do otherwise. I can't say anything bad about John E. except I think he sometimes votes repug; but, his positive side wins out by a long shot. Besides, he's lives in Fresno, my home town. Bravo to JEleazarian!

hey there say, all...

i enjoy all the stuff i learn from all the climbers in trip reports and info, and such...

so i will chip in on some names that have recently share positive stuff in other areas:

scseagoat, and big mike... oddly, she herself, just mentioned big mike, :))

taking life and moving on after those hardships...
one, health and one, injury, yet, staying focused on the trail and not
on despair... whewwww, :)

and then, so many, of course, as to the climbing, both guys and gals, and you all know who you are, there, :) even more than i could ever understand...

keep up the good shares, folks, :)

edit:
*jan, also, thanks for all the info you give us all, so we can make
positive actions, as to things we are trying to learn, too, you have a lot
of info from the other side of the world, that we never get much contact with... thank you so much for that insight, :)

micronut - dood is definitely a WWJD sort of guy. kudos!

neebee - reminds me of what i would expect 'mother teresa' to have been like.

lynnie - seems like a good representation of 'mary magdalene' (post prostitute days, lol).

leggs - is a sweet person with a heart of gold, whom in a barroom brawl wouldn't hesitate to jump in and help ya kick some ass.

todd gordon - must not have a mean bone in his body, cuz he hasn't posted one solitary negative thing on this forum in 10 years.

edit: i would put Cragman somewhere in the WWJD category also, except, when the sh#t starts to fly he deletes all his posts
and disappears for a couple months, lol. kinda more like a 'jonah' type of character. but, cool none the less!

me? i'm the prophet type of character. nobody likes what a prophet has to say, so i'm obviously not a candidate for this thread.

hey there say, all...

the neat thing about all the climbers is this:

when there ARE some that are not quite sharing something positive, at some point, most likely
they WILL, after they work out whatever the trouble is, as to 'said situation' that is being shared here, etc:

kind of like working out a climb that ended up a bit more upsetting
than expected--afterwards, there is so much positive-learning that has
taken place and they are all anxious to share it, :) it makes the
forum twice as special...

we all have our learning-degrees, as to climbing the ol' positive
attitudes and influence, of dishing-out info, for the palette of the
mind/soul and spirit, :)

i am always learning, by way of kids, and all those household type situations, ;)) being that i don't climb, :)

we see a lot of the 'stirring of the pot' as it cooks, stews, and settles, here, getting ready for the 'great meals' that we all learn new things from, from the 'quilt of experience'...

"positive people" are inherently as#@&%es, or misguided. Reality is not positive, especially nowadays.

I'm a glass half-full kinda guy, but I understand that most people suck and usually want something from you. The rest of the folks are the ones I tend to hang with. I cannot tolerate blind kindness and "positivity".

But that's why I'm considered an as#@&%e. Too honest, and intolerant of bullsh#t. Whatever...

I understand that most people suck and usually want something from you.

That's where you're wrong. Most people are completely opposite of your sentiment.

Are you actively looking for the negative in people, are you predisposed to this notion, are the people you refer to a figment of your imagination, are you just hanging out with the wrong people, or are you just a cynical as#@&%e?

It's got to be one of those, because most people I meet are kind and not fake.

What is about Canadians that makes them so damn nice and likeable? I've been pondering this question for about 40 years (when I first met a bunch of them). I've climbed with many; I've worked with quite a few. I pretty much like 'em all, to the man or woman (as the case may be). Is it the cold?...Is it the great white north (Ok, so that's kinda like the cold, which means the next one is still number 2). Is it the fact that they are NOT a superpower? Is it because a "regular" coffee includes cream and sugar? Who knows? It's like pornography, you know it when you see it.

If you want to feel lonely, get a time machine and vote in a Republican primary in the Sather Gate area in Berkeley in the early 1970's, like I did. They had paper ballots in pads there for all to see at the polling place. There were five pads for Democrats, two pads for Peace and Freedom, and barely-used single pads for the fringes: Socialist Workers, Communist, Republican, Prohibition, etc.

If nothing else, it certainly reinforced the idea that I was thinking for myself!

bluering when you talk about climbing you're positive. You used to do that a lot. Now you rarely talk climbing at all.

If you want to be more positive, switch topics! Leave that politics crap for the suicidal partisans.

Back... away... from the politics. Its just jacking off anyway.

DMT

This is where I will never relent. I was a born rebel and activist, and my Mom would attest to that. I used to be on the other side as a "feeling" youth.

Now I'm more logical and thinking than feeling. Feeling (and being "positive") is useless unless logic first governs our society. Logic should come first and then we can "feel" for the "needy".

I will always fight the conservative fight because I think leftist feel-good crap is responsible for the holes we're in.

Whether it's relentless welfare, food-stamps (all without challenging these people to get jobs!), or more money for schools that gets wasted, it's all proven to never work!

I will not give up on politics...or climbing. I am capable of both. I just climb less nowadays w/ a 5 yr old.

Being pissed keeps us questioning our domineering gov't. Ya know? I will not go to sleep.

One must have both to be complete.

Positive and negative

The false stoooopid American renunciates will always remain unbalanced due to poor fund of knowledge.

This is why they are stupidly involved in wars all over the planet.

Stoooopid Americans.

The thread is now balanced ..... :-)

Hi there Herr Braun. Are you referring to absolute postive and negative or flux capacitance?

Just wondering.

On the otherhand, a working class hero is something to be (or not to be?).

I'd say that the overwhelming majority of Tacoans are positive...

...that they are right.

Why do some of you need to knock down the folks that would cheer for you, cuss out those who are putting you down and then wonder why the hell you are alone?

Plus life is complicated enough without one's limited perception getting in the way. Big Fact is NO ONE IS PERFECT. Stop being so surprised at finding flaws in others, such action doesn't speak well of you. It is up there with realizing your parents had SEX in order for you to be born. Get over it, not doing so is pretty disturbing.

Second... Most of us are so busy with our own messes, we are not interested in much beyond them. Why do some folks when someone is NOT paying attention to them, always cry... "That person is so self centered!" So far I've noticed that most are not exhibiting self centered behavior, it's self preservation. It's called reflecting... Usually the person crying wolf, is the wolf, or in this case... The self centered one.

All I am going to say is have empathy, try to be kind and stop worrying about this micro behavior and that micro offense. Reality is that when you are on your death bed, most of this stuff won't be on your list to remember, care about, etc. Save your worries for what will actually bother you when you are facing death.

Alright, I am done with my rant...

I will John, Greece always is as an adventure even when you don't mean it to be. A mix between relatives, tossing my Dad's ashes, BABY, and eventually Bill, plus a wedding... Oh yeah, I am in for a wild ride. Trust me, I already know what I'll be doing... Keeping the baby safe while laughing so hard I'm crying... Please note I'm tame compared to them.

This is the woman that talked down the man who entered a school armed to the teeth. If you can, listen to the entire 24 minutes. I was in tears by the end.

Ive been at the top of the most negative posters list for a decade. I guess it takes social and intellectual polarity to generate the flux. Thanks to CMac for hosting the Taco. Hope to all whom Ive offended that you get a chance to confront my bullshyt here anytime.
