As soon as the 'music' started I had to turn it off. Besides, I've heard
all about the same trip from my friend. When he finished in Chile he sold
his bike to a Chilean who just reversed the trip on the same Kawasaki!

Bummer , I don't really enjoy that sort of techno music but I think it fits the shots and editing style the video had ...

I sold my bike last summer to a guy that did really minimal restoration work on it.

Finished result.

Now it's on it's way to the Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport NY.

Pretty rad Paul. I recognized a few places: Zion, Grand Canyon, possibly White Sands NM??
Totally into the beat. Ties in well with his nerdy dance moves.

Hope to see you...no no you BETTER still be in the valley when I get up there dude! ;)

Just got an X-mas gift. Sweet lined leather gloves for touring with wiper, armor, etc. Rode all day in the cold (35 F). Sweet!!!

Bump for this man!

Not a bad way to get around at least when the weather is perfect and everything is good mechanically. Seems to be a unique experience, not many people can say they've seen a huge chunk of the new world in person in a condensed time period.

I dream of doing a large cross country journey, ideally across australia as to not have to deal with border crossings and having to speed through crime ridden zones as quick as two wheels will carry. One tough thing about going through some of these places is the lack of part availability the farther south you go. If something breaks odds are you're gonna learn how to jimmy rig it or your trip certainly wont last a long time. I've been following these peeps as they go to the horn and back so im just a little aware of the risks and challenges.

I've been doing A LOT of touring on the BMW since I got her back on the road this past January and have put almost 7,000 miles on her since. I'm planning on a trip to Alaska next year and ride the Dalton...

Can't compare my trips with riding down to Chile but I rode this thing across the US and Canada twice (1979 and 81 I think). Never visited Texas on it or Alaska but pretty much everywhere else.

My big gripe with the bike (550 Suzuki) was that it didn't have folding foot pegs. So going around corners had to be taken with some degree of caution.

peater,
One of my favorite rides of all time was my 3 years on a '79 GS550.
It was my 'adventure' bike long before it was all the rage.
I once traversed a mile long landslide on it above Big Sur on highway 1 with CHP yelling profanities and threats at me for skirting their barriers.
Good times!

Hi PUD, Mine was a 78 GS550 that I bought new. I was mostly interested in canyon racing at the time and it was fast but didn't handle very well compared with my other bike (350 four Honda), go figure? I could beat other 500's with my 350 but couldn't with my 550.

So that led me to my touring days.

I've rode the PCH so many times I can't recall. We may have passed each other on that road.

So many tales to tell on those trips but that was before GoPro and digi cameras.

For I think 8 months on my first trip my address was my bike. I traveled 6 and spent 2 in the valley loaning it out once to some base jumpers so they could make a fast getaway.

Thanks for the reminisce.
