Spring has come to my plums in Central CA They bud out a bit behind the ones in the ground. Should be in top form later this week. They are still in training pots, I know. Sorry for the poor quality photos.

Flowers are same size, many trees are chosen for Bonsai because their small flowers or leaves.

Nice!
Why do we (humans) seem to love bonzai trees so much? They just feel stoic and beautiful and timeless eh?

bwaahha! GUD one Kenny.. Actually i have always had a great imagination.
You should have seen the "THE LIZARD" thread i coined on the largest taxidermny site. Was joined in with folks from all over the world. It was "trippy".. A meadow, where only the animals talked.

Simply stunning. Bonsai entrance us by their simple beauty. Such a complex form - a tree- so simply stated in a single pot. All human foibles in a tree in a pot.
I have my own goofy versions of bonsai out in our garden. Most of them I"ve grown from seed and are conifers : spruce , lodgepole pine, a cedar I harvested over a decade ago. For my "bonsai" ( in reality : tami's tinky trees in pots in her backyard ) , they share space next to the BBQ and the herb -slash-messy garden and remind me of my days out treeplanting.
Yey for bonsai.
