Jennifer Martin. Very sad news. Tragic. A really good, fun person, always cheerful, positive. Strong climber back in the day. She moved away from Boulder a few years ago, raising a kid (two kids, now, sounds like). Lost touch with her over the last decade or so.

RIP Jen-Jen

Didn't know her, but sounds like a fun loving lady. Jennifer posted this to the Kurt Albert RIP thread in 2011:

"Kurt this might be the second response from me, This is Jennifer Martin , I don't like this obituriary shit!! I love you and i have a scar from when jesse and Gina and Dave Whaley were visiting you in , "Germany", I have a scar from are , "Sauluteing' our beers. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I had so much fun climbing with you. You were so funny. This day was very sad for me because I was in jail on March 28th at 3:15pm 2010 for climbing some business building , during working hours, I had to get to the top. wall street wasnt to happy, whatever!! they are so serious, but anyway made it to the top and when they told me I was "Naughty for climbing there building, and aresseted me, my awesome dad died while i was in jail. His name is, "Richard Martin and he is probaley at happy hour craG OR HOUR OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. WOW. i LOVE YOU AND MY DAD FOREVER. SEE YOU ONE DAY JENNIFER MARTIN 720-366-xxxx"

Jennifer was a very fun person to climb with and hang out with in Eldo back when we all were unemployed and spent most of our time in Eldo. I will always remember her smile and passion for climbing. My heart goes out to her kids ,mom, sister, and family. To all her many climbing friends please remember her in your thoughts. Rest in peace Jenn.

I didn't know Jennifer, but I have lost someone I loved with all my heart.
My thoughts and prayers and wishes of peace and healing go out to her children, family and friends. It's so tough to lose someone so close to you. It takes time....maybe years....to deal with the loss. I will keep you in my prayers and feel free to email me if you wish. Peace, Lynne Leichtfuss

Marcella reminded me today that she and Jenn visited my hospital room when I was busted-up a dozen years ago. I remember the laughter.

We climbed together in the '80s when you could get out and enjoy a fun day without any pretense. A light and happy spirit. Your kids, family, and all your friends do mourn your passing. <3

Damn . . that makes me sad. I haven't seen Jenny in almost 20 years. She was such a sweetheart, and a fun climbing and drinking partner as well.

I sure miss those days of endless climbing in Eldo and parties at Crusher's and Fran's place with a huge gang of crazy friends from numerous countries.
Where does the time go?

RIP Jenny.

Thanks for posting that great picture Crunch.I remember that nite well, 4th of july scramble to the top of the 3rd Flatiron to watch the fireworks.
In the pic from left to right is Dan Mcquade, unknown, Steve Sangdahl,Thom"mission" Engelbach, and Jennifer Martin...RIP. This was circa 1985 or 1986.
Crusher I vividly remember you climbing up abit later than us and we took the liberty of tossing a "few" empty beer cans down the face your way and also shooting a few bottle rockets down the face as well. Man those were the days and it always seemed that Jennifer was game to participate in our adventures no matter how silly they were!!!!! Then we all had to get off the thing at NITE. There are many more stories of fun times with Jenn. PLease feel free to post em up. Jenn, you are in our hearts and thoughts. Peace Steve S

Okay, folks we are trying to arrange a small gathering and ash scattering in Eldo off the Yellow Spur on Wensday the 20th of Febuary Jenn wanted some of her ashes scattered off Yellow spur and we will try and make this happen(weather dependent of course) I know this is short notice and is in the middle of the work week but somefolks will be in town then who figured prominetly in her life.Jenn,s mom will hopefully watch from below and would welcome anyone who wishes to sit with her. Thanks Steve S.
p.s. We will also try and have a celebration of life later in Eldo when the days are warmer and longer.

The new plan is for a small gathering in Eldo on wensday at 3:00 pm and then food and drinks at about 4:00 at "Under the Sun" in south boulder.
We are planning on a more official climber type "celebration of Life" in Eldo on July 11th as per Jennifer,s mom and sister Jill,s wishes. Thanks.

I would like to thank everyone who showed up today 2/20/13 to help celebrate Jennifer Martin,s life. Jenn,s mom was very happy to see her extended climbing family show up and offer support and tell stories. It really helped. Thanks also to those who came out to Eldo on a cold day and scrambled to the top of the Bastille and said kind words and stories of Jennifer and scattered her ashes off the top. She would have got a kick out of us old members of the ever shrinking Eldo tribe getting ourselves up there and sending her off on her next trip.
We are still planning on doing the same in July off the Yellow spur per Jenn,s wishes.
R.I.P. Jennifer , you will be missed but not forgotten,we love you!

Oh my, just saw this. RIP Jennifer. We kept in touch until about 2001. Last time I saw her she came over to talk. Sweet Jenn. I'm glad you all were kind to remember her in her passing.
