Happy Birthday to the Wall Crawler, one of the finest people I know and the best friend a dirtbag climber ever had. You saved my life Jimmy when it was bleakest. I love you brother.

Jimmy once tried to sell me a sawed off piton tip and a cable loop as an aid device.

He called it a Raven.

I asked him why he called it that and he said, "Because you'd have to be a raven lunatic to use it."

You mean like back in the '60s when Kor was in there and Jimmy and his HS buddies would toss cherry bombs off the rim? lol

Jimmy's back yard IS the Black Canyon. His home, the NEWBERRY'S General Store is a 15 minute walk from the Big Gash. He was also an early pioneer of Colorado ice climbs.

Jimmy, a big happy b-day (sorry I missed the actual day)! There never was a more kind, accessible soul. When I think of you, it always brings a big smile to my face.

Cheers! Scott Mossman

Lurkers tell no tales and Jimmy has a load of them I suspect so get him to share a few with us on one of the many Black Canyon threads.

We are always honored here on the ST when climbers of substance and caliber share themselves with us on the record.

Jimmy- Take the plunge, brother! Don't sweat the pissants.

Being the gambler that he is, I think he keeps his cards close to his chest. (he and Rosholt spent a lot of time together in that other pursuit)
