This is a cross post from the Birds thread, but since this was the first chance to get out since my surgery, I figured it kind of fits here:-)

A few shots of some wildlife from another poor California deer season. I was standing on the rock in the foreground looking in the mud for prints. Probably stood there for 30 seconds before noticing the reptile waiting for a victim.
Lucky it was morning and he was cold. Never even rattled.
Beautiful snake

I touched him with my barrel to see his length and rattles. He gave us a courtesy rattle then slowly went under the rock. 9 buttons and five or so foot long. Grateful he didn't strike me.

Last week we had two encounters with different black bears in the same day.
The first was a small one, maybe 200-250lbs and those damn leaves ruined my focus point. He jetted away after this pic.

This one was way bigger and never saw us. I was around 30 yards away and it was a great hunt. No deer but my camera shot.

If he/she saw me she didn't react. Didn't try to wind me or look at me again.

Amazing experience to share with my girlfriend.

I hope chewy sees these.

Guess we will settle with our wolf.
