She reigns at the 17th ST. Pub.
Vanessa also plays with the group called Ahwhnichi.
Notice her necklace, made by a Shoshone lady from Shasta County.
The owners of the Partisan and the owners of the Pub are one and the same, the brothers Essig, with a little help from Vanessa. RC, the older of the two bros, is the force behind Ahwahnichi, the band. He claims close kinship with Julia and Lucy Parker.
His establishing of the Pub is a bold step in Merced downtown history, where saloons w/o stools predominated till the forties, when women started wearing pants on Main ST., USA, near as I can make it.
Stools came in, spitoons and foot-rails went out. Think about it and have one on me.
