Pretty clear those boys are attracted to Honnold's magnificent body and are unnerved and unmanned by those feelings, threatened, and they react the only way they were ever taught, by the bully boys in the gym who made them submit when they were small lads.
They studied that photo quite closely, I assure you.
Honnold does look like a perfectly carved statue doesn't he. How can you not appreciate his athletic form?

My spidey senses were tingling because of this thread, awaking me from deepest slumber. What to say? Point out the obvious that it doesn't "look" like a climbing photo because, well, Esquire isn't a climbing mag, contrary to a subset of opinion around here? Observe that, yes, the natural progression of reaction to the photo is: "Holy sh#t, Alex is RIPPED, dude!" to "Damn. That photo is WAY airbrushed. Is this from a cameo role he has in Spartacus? Spartacus, I LOVE that show. Boobies!"?
To continue the whipping of the lash, excuse what is probably just a really poor attempt at humor, or forbid my wife from ever looking at this photo, that is the question.

It is refreshing to know the guy is mortal like the rest of us. There are always some weak links in someone's body armour.
As for his build, he looks (in stature) like a Michael Phelps reproduction (long torso and arms); but I had in my mind he was at least 6'2" or taller for some reason. I guess because he can seemingly stretch a couple of hundred feet from ledge to ledge.

There are thousands of photos of semi-clothed people on this Forum. Some are more appealing to one person than another. The photo of Alex is perfectly innocuous. More power to him for making some money.

Lots of comments to agree with here.
That the photo is awesome. That Alex has quite the physique. That Alex is a great guy. That the lowest of the low post on the forum is found on this thread. And that it's surprising to see such visceral reaction from this one innocuous photo after the 1000s of photos of females posted here repeatedly - full body and crotch alone. Hell most of them aren't even climbers. :/ I mean, who can't appreciate a climber's body? (Technically I don't know if all the close up posts of female crotches are of climbers).
Some f*#ked up people here on the taco. Happily, they are in the minority.
