I have a site in Hidden Valley for the next 9 days and I cant use it. I was so psyched to get out for the annual Thanksgiving week, but the wife is OTR and my stupid kid has some sort of tooth problem. My loss is your gain. 9 days starting on Tuesday. $450 or best offer. PM me.

I give you an overall C- and a B+ for effort on the Stuportaco Troll Scale. You would have got a higher overall grade if you didn't set the price so high.
But we might get some good entertainment out of this yet.
I would rather take my $450 and tweak out at the pit for a few days. You know, late-night lurking, filling trash-bins, and hauling in random yard-sale furniture for others to deal with later.

Yeah, this is probably some NPS troll, to find out what sites are going for on the black market. Next thing they'll be selling passes for Half Dome on e-bay.
Checking with a reliable source (and using the poster's IP address as a cross-check), I was able to confirm that there is a corresponding reservation over the Thanksgiving week. But, since transferring reservations for profit is violative of the Reservation site's policies, my source cancelled it.

Exactly! My money is already in the Iron Ranger and I'm only trying to recoup my losses for the site and gas getting there and back from the OC. Them other guys are trolls or are just trying to get my site.

first off dude it isn't your site. if you can't be there chalk it up as a donation to the NPS...you get more than you pay out of enjoying the park anyway. what happens when people who know you are going to be leaving come over and take over your site and the poor sap who buys it off of you is left without a site?
It's illegal to oversell the site. It's caused some problems for legit groups in Yosemite as well as in Jtree. Fun read but some of you are members of those groups who've had to deal with this and it's caused grief from the NPS due to scalping of sites. Now we have to deal with more regs because of jerks like this. Even trolling to scalp just exacerbates the problem. This a-hole is causing more problems then Fatty ever did.....

If this is for real.. Anyone who wants the site can just lurk and take it for regular NPS rates today. If the OP's "stupid kid" really has a tooth-thing to take care of he's hardly going to hang around trying to patrol the perimeter of a camp-sight indefinitely to extort money. The scalp-e would probably have to pony up an extra $90 on top of the scalp-rate to get the paperwork to match BTW.

Ammenities include: Spacious, wide open vistas. Close to fine dining, Near the park - but avoid the fighting over sites in Hidden Valley campground and people asking if they can park their car in your site. Exemplary custodial manager on call; just post on this forum and he'll come running with his trash tweetzers!

I would like to think that there is nobody stupid enough to pay 450 bucks for a site at HVCG, and then be stupid enough to pay the money over in town without a clue as to whether the site even exists.
I haven't been out to Josh in years. I don't recall ever paying anything for a site. i recall paying to get into the park (at times)!! maybe we paid something for a site, it wudda been minimal (like c4 was, bitd) i was shocked to see "$450", but i am pretty clueless as to what's going on out there these days. 9 days at $450 wud be about $45-$50 a day. It does sound absurd. Especially for a single family. But, I thought maybe they are sites for multiple famlies/cars/people or whatever?? Dunno!!

I HAD (up until this thread) thought it was still free to camp & climb there. And i have (family has) a Golden Eagle Pass (FWTW). I would like to go out there. But, if I had won the "bet" I would have prollie gone out there for a few, but most lkely simply given it away to someone more worthy of spending a full 9 days at Jtree (most likely what i wudda done)!!

I'm not aware of any type of internet confirmation on campsites up there so the business with mentioning the IP track made me think Randy was pulling our legs. He could certainly report the site and the internet post to the NPS and rat them out though. Pretty funny if he actually busted them LOL.
PerlonHex - SB is V3+ tops. MH was my old stomping grounds for 15 years. I can still do it right now, off the sofa, and is a trick.

What bothers me is that it is extremely disrespectful to the FA & SA! (Rick Piggott & John Long)! Rick never said anything about a "trick". I talked to him about it on several occasions, bitd! Did any of you happen to climb with a guy named Brian over the holiday out at Josh? Cool guy, from Santa Cruz or SLC, might have had some dreads and really dirty feet. Well, his check for the campsite I sold him bounced and I'm looking for him. Emails are not being returned. He was driving a Toyota TRD that was dark green with a bad shell and some Evolve stickers on the windows.
I think he was going to Canyonlands after Josh. Thanks for any insight you might have.

I shared a campsite with a guy that matches your description on Thur-Sun. He seemed like cool guy. I offered to pay him for my share of the site but he refused.
He told me he was heading Red Rocks next. He needed a break from camping and was getting a room at the Red Rock Inn Casino. Nice place, and very convenient to climbing. I looked into it once and it was out of my budget, but maybe someday. I usually just find some deal on Priceline when I go to Vegas, but this guy probably has a trust fund.

Oh for the GOOD Old days when it was JTNM,
and the campsites were FREE.
But then, we had the Yahoos that would put an old icechest, a jug of water and a few old pans, to save the sites for the weekends.
Oh, and maybe an old lawnchair.
