the recklessly casual approach. up north we usually use grigris while belaying Kasual.

P.S. It's possible I may know the guy in the last photo. If it's not him, I definitely knew a character who did similar stuff. He was also very good at setting up portaledges five feet off the deck in JT!

Fixed credits in Belayer photos to attribute Steelmonkey.

A screamer in the bottom one.... that may be my guy! Total gearhound. Had five of everything every invented. Knew a lot of technique but never actual saw him climb much. Well, the one time we actually did a climb together he followed me up James Brown in JT. I seem to recall some wimpering from down below. Not sure if he actually made it up. Nice enough guy, though. Come to think of it, he was missing one piece of gear: an armchair!
