"The batman rappell posted earlier. Those boltz were so bad. Spinners and rotters. 3/16" x 1.5"; never trusted them."
That was like 73, the rap station bolts were good then and I know I'm gonna die.
Have the spinners and rotters been upgraded?
Have fun all!!!

I was there in the early-mid '80s. Those boltz were crap. But I still clipped them.

I believe back in those days, The Trough was rated F4. What is the consensus rating these days?

I'm going to try to make it and bring the family. Looks like lots of fun!
BTW, last time I was there I noticed some of the bolts were not up to modern standards. In particular, the second bolt on the 10a to the right of Africa Flake (don't remember the name of the climb - Mind Bender?) I suspect this bolt sees a lot of falls/hangs, and a failure would not be pretty.
Would it be reasonable to suggest that some of the older bolts be replaced? I don't have the skills, but can donate money to buy the new bolts.
